Sign up for Post Prod! https://t.co/dCotwPNlca I’m mostly trying out Mastodon, but this seems promising if that doesn’t end up taking off.

Wow. Fell this so much. I wouldn’t put it quite this way, but that’s only because I wouldn’t put it this well.

I would love to see a modern take on Babylon 5. Times both have and haven’t changed, while the means to tell a story on TV certainly have. With @straczynski behind it, it has a shot to marry the old and new into something truly amazing. #B5onCWin23

Twitter constantly asks me to enable notifications. Why don’t I? Because I open the app multiple times a day already. And quite often, there’s a notification badge when the only notification is the request to enable notifications. Be less annoying, Twitter!

What do we want? Corporate bullshit. When do want it? At this uniquely challenging time.

Sesame Street taught 1000s (incl me) to read, do simple math, be kind, understand a tiny bit of other languages/cultures, etc. before kindergarten. Watching it be burned down so quickly would be shocking if it weren’t exemplary of almost everything wrong with our world right now.

the way I feel about typescript is the way I'd feel if someone popularized adding gendered nouns to english to make it feel more like a romance language

Amazing how we still ask questions ancient philosophers did. Is a fact a true belief or an accepted belief? The latter is subtly confusing. That confusion often leveraged in bad faith. The former is precise but near useless. It’s hard or impossible to know anything truly *is* so.

The problem with this take is that the ‘extremism’ right now is asymmetric. One side’s “extremists” want to end democracy and believe in conspiracies about pedophiles; the other side’s “extremists” want universal healthcare and the cancelation of all student debt.
If you think Democrats benefit from extreme Republican candidates (or vice versa), you should apply the same logic & evidence to the other side. If you think more extreme candidates hurt the other side but help your side, you’re just engaged in wishful thinking.

The forest was shrinking, but the trees kept cheering and voting for the axe. Because its handle was made of wood, and they thought it was one of them.

Ban assault rifles, not books. Regulate firearms, not women’s bodies. Protect kids, not lobbyists.

Just to make it clear, you know those shows with the bumbling public defender who is overworked and basically just agrees with the prosecution? They are saying that it’s fine for govt to do that and kill you because it’s your fault you didn’t have a better lawyer.
The Supreme Court rules 6-3 against two men on Arizona's death row who say they received ineffective assistance of counsel in state court. SCOTUS says that federal courts reviewing their cases can't hold evidentiary hearings to fully assess their ineffective-counsel claims.
