We believe that realistic bioengineered mini-organs have great potential to model intestinal physiology and function in vitro and will accelerate the drug development process.

In this work, we are advancing the use of a new class of organ-on-chip devices that we introduced earlier with mouse mini-guts. Over the past few years, we have continued developing the unique toolkit of advanced bioengineering technologies and focused on growing human.

Additional cell types such as fibroblasts, immune cells and microvasculature can be added to the matrix, allowing to study organ level multicellular interactions!

The biomimicking matrix and tissue-specific microtopography in the core of the chip allows to recreate intestinal epithelium that look and function like real tissue!
