Some images from a 2014 trip to Nairobi National Park. We waited an hour for these female lions to move from cover, but we were rewarded with them crossing in front of the vehicle as they wandered into the savannah.

My biggest birding highlight ever! Minding my own business at Harborne Reserve in February 2025 a little bird landed in some trees in front of me. Not quite believing what I was seeing, I just took photo after photo. A beautiful Lesser Spotted Woodpecker! @WestMidBirdClub

Some Black Redstart images from last year at various sites in Birmingham City Centre. The city centre seems to be alive with them this year, but getting distant views can take time. But after the gulls, they seem to be the noisiest birds around😀. @WestMidBirdClub

Great to see this Whinchat @RSPBSandwell today (from the screen next to the hide). A great finish to a busy day on Forge Mill Lake (including Common Terns, Common and Green Sandpipers, Little Ringed Plovers and a very showy Sparrowhawk). @WestMidBirdClub @RSPBbirders

Some juvenile Redstart images with a female Redstart thrown in. Amazing views in the New Forest. I'm used to 1 or 2 showing up at Sandwell Valley, but seeing 20 plus was great.

Some Little Tern images from the South Coast taken earlier this month. Amazing to see them hovering metres away from me, searching for their next target in the water. Plenty of Common Terns and Sandwich Terns around as well.

The dark side of birding and wildlife photography. The main predator at Normandy Marshes seemed to be the local Great black-backed gulls. I'm assuming that the prey was a Black-headed gull chick.

Some distant Dartford Warbler images from a recent visit to the south of England. Lifer for me, often heard, difficult to see, but managed to get these images of two individuals.

Another great trip to @RSPBMiddleton yesterday afternoon. 3rd time lucky (dipped by a day at Slimbridge and Martin Mere) with the Temmincks's Stint (very small bird in the 3rd image), plus Swift, Hobby and Bittern (all distant). @WestMidBirdClub

One of those strange days @WWTSlimbridge today. Got to see 4 Greenshank, 1 Spotted Redshank, 1 Wood Sandpiper and a Garganey, but dissapointed not to see the Bluethroat and the recent Temminck's Stint. Happy to get close views of this Linnet. @slimbridge_wild #

Yesterday's Glossy Ibis that made an appearence for the #westmidsalldayer at @ladywalk_nr . I took this image as it flew in from Crake Corner to in front of B hide. Amidst the commotion, a Hobby flew through as well (maybe the cause). Great to see up close. @WestMidBirdClub

Some Grey Heron and Black-headed Gull action @RSPBMiddleton last Monday. The poor Black-headed Gull was on a nest and eventually defended it's territory against this Heron. Got brief views of a Bittern as well, @Staffsbirdnews @WestMidBirdClub

Some images from Sunday's trip to @RSPBFrampton. A seemingly slow day, but saw/heard 60 species without many of the more common ones. Common Tern, Whimbrel, Sedge Warbler and Ruff. @WestMidBirdClub #rspbframpton
