My 3 followers may remember I used Pi in real life the other day. Today I found a rock I thought was a meteorite and had to calculate it’s density. Finding mass was easy. Volume was found by displacing water and measuring amount displaced. It’s not a meteorite. Probably obsidian.

I had to get a cap to fit on a piling and I needed to get the right diameter cap. Couldn’t reach top of piling w/o ladder. Realized I could divide circ by Pi to get D. I think I finally used my 5th grade math.
