My brother’s girlfriend’s cousin and his family were caught in their vehicle in Maui while the wildfires suddenly erupted around them.
No cell service, so Apple Emergency SOS was the only way they could get in contact with first responders. Literally saved their lives.
Saw this posted on LinkedIn as a leader’s recommended reading list (or something along those lines).
Once again I am begging of you, please read more fiction. I promise that it will do more for you vs another productivity optimization book.

Your plane would likely crash if they attempted to fly through that weather.
Don’t blame the airline for poor weather and your not planning around it.
@elonmusk
Please integrate Advanced Twitter Search into the main Twitter app? Only way to power search, many use it often, and it’s a broken experience since it lives on its own IRL.
@jaronmyers
If you did this I’m going to be the person that would be smart / selfish enough to undercut everyone and take the offer once it gets to ~$1000.
@Mq2Oco
I remember seeing the video for when the feature first debuted and I reacted that it was fear mongering… I was wrong. Thankful for that satellite tech integration.
I went to my local McDonalds to try the Travis Scott meal.
Mother of 2 in front of me ordered 4 meals to go. I joked with her about how Travis secured the bag.
“I’m buying this meal bc it’s the least expensive combo on the menu.”
No one is reporting this/pointing this out.
This magazine cover image still hits hard years later.
This is what it looked like, this is how it felt, and for a lot of people, not that much has changed since.
Having a lot of conversations lately about early career development in a remote environment, and it's bleak.
@dustinvarano
I was going to comment on the lack of women (you rented a yacht and didn’t invite any women?), but it is the sin of putting whiskey in an ice bucket that is really making me go insane.
For anyone curious, here's a video that explains how Apple Emergency SOS via Satellite works 🛰️
I'm setting aside time this week to educate myself on the full feature set, which I've taken for granted on my 14 Pro.
This Netflix DVD-by-mail farewell spot is so good. Today marks their final day of operation.
Nostalgia overload. Rare that a TV spot makes me feel this emotional…
Work by Ways & Means (LA)
There are apartments in The Philippines that can be paid for via SLP (Axie Infinity currency). Or, lots of folks earning 5-10x a day playing than they would at a menial job. SLP into fiat into food and shelter.
This game is legitimately changing lives.
Advertising used to be about big ideas, creating desire, and building aspirational worlds. Now it's mostly about optimization, efficiency, and arbitrage.
A lot of the industry is closer to finance than it is to creative at this point, but we're loathe to admit it.
@MattWalshBlog
I was attacked in my family front yard when I was 5 years old by a neighbor’s dog. 30+ stitches and an a fear of dogs that took a very long time to overcome.
Thank god it wasn’t a pitbull.
@adamdotdev
This type of optimization content needs to stop. People have been consuming coffee and tea for thousands of years.
I enjoy a cup of coffee as part of my morning ritual.
On days that I need a boost, I… drink a bit more coffee.
So maybe *you’re* doing it wrong.
Anyone who studies branding and marketing can feel it: there is no greater betrayal of trust than what Robinhood just did to its users. IMHO.
Entire USP and years of building equity out the window. It’s depressing.
I'm about 100K miles away from Million Miler Status on Delta, but I might not get there... starting next year I'm going to break my decade+ long diehard loyalty to the airline bc of changes to earning Medallion status.
We are in awe of the Barbie marketing efforts in part because it is the opposite of the overly-hypertargeted-personalized-efficiency-based-performance-marketing-programmatic-pipes approach that works against the ability for brands to create ubiquitous cultural moments.
I got like 12 emails at exactly 8AM this morning which means that a lot of you need to get more crafty with your Scheduled send timing.
I'm a fan of 7:36AM PST. Sends a "he's up early, he's serious" but also "that's a reasonable time, he's not off the rails" kinda vibe.
I really want to know how much influence Travis and his team had over pricing bc I’m sure McD isn’t super happy with the margins esp with all the marketing involved.
If so, he’s ensured that a lot of people get to eat a full meal out here, man. That’s bigger than “marketing.”
Observation about Generative AI and consumer brand expectations:
There were *so many* good and interesting / provocative AI takes on what the Tiffany's x Nike collab had the potential to release... that the actual product once revealed was a bit underwhelming.
Social Media Manager Twitter: no one understands how our job is 24/7. No time off! It’s excessive!
Also Social Media Manager Twitter: Ocean Spray is dropping the ball! That video went viral 3 hours ago and they still haven’t done anything at 9PM on a Saturday!

@Partisan_O
We are the last generation with analog childhoods.
For the oldest of us, our lives up until college were devoid of cell phones, or regular and unlimited access to internet. We still vividly remember what the world was like before easy access to information. A different world.
This slide is undefeated. Definitely in the discussion for Top 10 slides of all time in the history of business (and the world). Hang this in the MoMA. Put this in the Louvre.
Doing a crowdsourced dynamic pricing experiment right now.
If you have the McDonald’s app, can you look up the price of a Big Mac combo w/ medium drink and post a pic here mentioning your location?
I’ll start: $8.99 in LA (N Hollywood to be specific).
On my flight to CES.
I’m sitting next to a “roller coaster professional” who flies around the country finding dying malls and converting the sq footage into family entertainment zones.
“I’m scouting out the big Macy’s locations that will probably close soon.”

Rules for Networking Up:
If you're trying to get the attention of someone who is much more senior than you, or an expert in a field that you're trying to learn about, or are looking for a mentor, etc, some basic golden rules.
This is imho based entirely on personal exp:

If Apple does this they will be forfeiting a distinctive brand asset that is worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
The Blue Bubble is the best moat in tech. A stronger signal than driving a Tesla or wearing a Rolex.
Apple will adopt the RCS messaging standard next year, which might get rid of the green bubble when texting an Android.
This will add real-time typing indicators, read receipts, higher resolution photos and videos, and improved group chats between iPhones and Androids.
I think we’ll look back at today and wonder how the NBA possibly allowed games to go on with players openly grieving on the court.
The tributes were heartfelt but it just doesn’t seem right.
I don’t blame Kyrie for leaving and not coming back.
This was a comment posted to a NY Times article published 3 years ago during lockdown, questioning whether NYC would ever recover (people had really bad opinions about that lol).
I read it sometimes to remind me of that magic feeling that really can’t be replicated elsewhere.
Someone stole my NFTs today on

and purchased $10K++ worth of today's drop without my knowledge. NFTs were then transferred to another account.
I encourage EVERYONE to please check their accounts ASAP.

I’m taking a downtown stroll to clear my head.
Going to live tweet whatever interesting marketing / advertising stuff I come across on this thread.
If you follow me on IG (same handle) you’ll also get the non-marketing takes.
First up:
When I was on the big agency side, I'd be oddly jealous of friends who worked at big consultancies or law because they got to go to retirement parties.
In my 15+ years at agencies, no one ever retired, because no one ever made it that far before needing to exit the industry.
@apexlearn_org
On this note, there are several books that I have re-read at different decades in life, and they hit differently every time.
The Unbearable Lightness of Being is a completely different book to read in your 20s vs 40s, etc.
Loving the debate and discourse this campaign is generating.
Imo it’s beautiful, iconic. There are only a handful of brands who could dare do anything similar. A+
But… does it work? A fair question. But the growth bros shooting this work down haven’t seen the brief either.
“Include a QR code.”
“Add a line to explain the visual.”
“It needs a call-to-action.”
A “No” to all of the above. That’s why the latest
@British_Airways
campaign by the lovely folks of
@Uncommon_Studio
is so utterly marvelous. Again.
