Last week, Apple held a retirement party for Williams with a slew of VIPs from the company. And this past Wednesday, the company hosted an on-campus goodbye event for Williams — with Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook and Williams’ family in attendance.

Here’s my profile from last year of John Ternus and Apple’s increasing succession discussions with Tim Cook being 65 and in the role for 15 years.
bloomberg.com
John Ternus, the head of hardware engineering, is emerging as a potential successor to the CEO.
As I wrote a month ago, Apple is due for a major management shake-up and the spotlight is squarely on John Ternus as Tim Cook’s successor as CEO. But I don’t get the sense anything is imminent as the @FT is claiming.

This makes sense. Apple has too many and a confusing number of subscriptions. Also makes the base TV subscription more valuable - for those who care about soccer. I wish Apple would solve the NBA problem but rights make that impossible.
NEWS: MLS will no longer be behind a separate paywall on Apple TV beginning in 2026. MLS Season Pass will no longer exist, and all MLS games will be available on the Apple TV streaming service. More details from @PaulTenorio: https://t.co/FTXPtcPpWE

The big shifts here: Tesla needs to hit every lever possible to boost sales - especially with new $1 Trillion pay package — and CarPlay is a factor in purchase decisions. Equally important: Apple bowing out of the EV race last year. I doubt this ever happens otherwise.

The plan calls for CarPlay to live in a box within the Tesla operating system and not take over the full screen like in most cars. It works wirelessly and is standard CarPlay, not CarPlay Ultra. Still, a huge win for Tesla, Tesla buyers/owners and Apple to get this done.
