BREAKING: Labour have just voted down the @Conservatives attempt to finally put a STOP to the Family Farm Tax. Starmer and Reeves' Family Farm Tax puts food security, rural jobs and generations of hard work at risk. A future Conservative government would abolish the Family
BREAKING: Labour have just voted down the @Conservatives motion to abolish the Farm Tax. Another wrong choice.

A masterclass applying to range of policies. Above all abject failure to prepare properly. John Smith sent front bench to Templeton College. ‘Never too late to avoid making bad decisions’ - a key lesson. @Keir_Starmer @UKLabour @thetimes

No10's attempt to levy inheritance tax on farms has been a fiasco. Now they're blaming bats and newts for missed housing targets. Here's a good New Year resolution for Number 10: stop picking fights with rural areas, stop blaming the bats, and build a vision.

Fantastic morning of tradition at the Cresselly Hunt at Cresswell Quay. Lovely to see young and old on horse back, a pub full of people and merriment in the air. Such a well supported event 🐴

@David__Osland I run a financial services company & have seen the accounts of many farmers & they rarely make the equivalent of minimum wage. If you've got 1 to 2 million pounds worth of land doesn't mean you can stump up £200,000 + inheritance tax when a parent dies. Cant you understand that?

I accompanied the @NFUtweets President to his meeting with the PM and the Defra SOS. Today's change on IHT for farmers and family businesses more generally is in large part down to this man's steadfast leadership and staunch advocacy on behalf of his fellow farmers. Well done Tom

Labour risks undercutting British farming if these bans are not matched by higher welfare standards for imported meat. Like their Family Farm Tax, Labour simply doesn’t care about rural Britain. https://t.co/aleL0JmdK1

This is what Keir Starmer & Rachel Reeves have created. The contemplation of death to avoid inheritance tax. Absolutely horrendous.

After @10DowningStreet spoke to the @CommonsLiaison, many news outlets have highlighted the damaging impact of the family farm tax on working people, particularly elderly and vulnerable farmers. There is still time for the government to take action to remove those most at risk

If Labour truly believe that food security is national security, they would axe the Family Farm Tax. Until then, our farming families will keep coming back🇬🇧👇

Once, the Liaison Committee was a must-watch in the House of Commons. But the Starmer super-majority means that the thrice-yearly gathering is much more of a snoozefest than it used to be. Two thirds...
