Solidarity with all Muslims, migrants, refugees and people of colour affected by the current violence. We must not only defeat these far right thugs, but the ideology that drives them. We must combat racism, Islamophobia and anti-migrant hatred wherever they rear their head.

This kind of smug, chortling derision sums up everything I loathe about the british establishment. I don’t expect these people to agree with her politically but the situation demands a modicum of respect and sympathy at the very least

Together with my independent colleagues, I have written to the Home Secretary requesting an urgent meeting in light of the far-right riots. We must call out this violence for what it is: rampant Islamophobia.

Politicians and journalists to use “Islamophobia” and “racism” challenge 🧐

MPs have been told over and over again not to publicly name asylum seeker accommodation because it is dangerous. This hotel was set on fire tonight. They are your constituents too. You doxxed them in the Houses of Parliament.

What will it take for political leaders to explicitly call out the Islamophobic and racist nature of the violence we are witnessing across the country?

When politicians demonise migrants, the far right listen. When they say refugees should be “sent back to where they came from”, the far right listen. When they complain about asylum seekers staying in hotels, the far right listen. Let’s promote a message of unity instead.

Racists are specifically targeting and slaying black and brown people on the street, the PM is nowhere to be seen and elected officials are calling it everything under the sun but racism and Islamophobia. So I guess they are the most tolerated forms of racism then 🤷🏾‍♀️
