I entirely understand the decisions the PM and the party have taken and, while very sad to have been suspended, will support them in any way I can. 2/2

I deeply regret my badly misjudged commments and apologise for any offense I’ve caused. I’ve served the Labour Party all my life and it was a huge honour to be appointed a minister by Keir Starmer. 1/2

This is significant. 👏 5.4% or £200m is the biggest real-terms increase to the Public Health Grant for years and follows nearly a decade of reduced spending – years when inflation was (well) above the BoE target. Thank you @wesstreeting & @GwynneMP.

We’re serious about public health. Prevention is better than cure. Today @GwynneMP and I are announcing public health grant allocations to invest in the health of the nation. Alongside @AngelaRayner, we’re backing local councils to make a real difference to local communities.

📣 Funding for public health grants will ⬆️to £3.858 Bn - a 5.4% cash uplift on last year’s funding. We are pleased the Govt has increased the PH grant, acting on our concerns over the funding pressures PH teams have been under to maintain vital services https://t.co/ZLCyN7E0tJ

This is why @GwynneMP has been leading on the Tobacco and Vapes Bill. Addiction isn’t freedom and children should not be gaining access to nicotine based products.

As @GwynneMP announces call for evidence for National Cancer Plan @braintumourrsch stands ready to make a submission. Could we be " pushing on an open door?" Are the Government ready to " do things differently"? https://t.co/7Qdx775BYP.

Great to hear my friend @GwynneMP announce this Government's ground-breaking National Cancer Plan. The plan will see waiting times reduced, access to earlier treatments, and investment in a world-leading trial to transform breast cancer care using AI. #WorldCancerDay
