I am extremely proud of our first "Inspire and Exchange" session and grateful for the hours of work that facilitators put into preparing the sessions and the engagement and contributions of all maths staff in the trust. Proper CPD!! End/.

Benefits? Setting the standard, aligning best practice and disseminating effective norms between schools, building confidence and pedagogical knowledge, developing leadership and CPD delivery and something that AI cannot do . building community 6/n.

A member of staff from each school attended every session, with a mixture of ECTs, curriculum leaders, aspiring specialists, teachers and SLT - with a view to take away the ideas and share them with the department 5/n.

Schools have been working on introducing a "SEE, KNOW, DO" approach to problem solving to improve conditional knowledge and strategy selection. Ask, "what can you SEE? What do you KNOW about what you can see? What maths can you DO?" 4/n.

Sessions had to be planned to include atomization of the topic skills, prerequisites, key worked examples, misconceptions and bridging, resources to takeaway and problem solving strategies 3/n.

Sessions planned on circle theorems, area under a graph/tangent to a curve, advanced algebraic fractions, multi-step ratio problem solving and conditional probability. 2/n.

Thread: Had a brilliant Trust wide "Inspire and Exchange" session today. Teachers/leaders from our 5 secondaries planned a CPD session outline on 5 higher GCSE topics. All teachers from the Trust attended (directed time to include travel) from 4pm until 5pm 1/n.

During the coming days I am going to create tasks called "Mixed Six" for each of key skills and cross over topics from Edexcel advance information. This draw upon the work of Pointon and Sangwin's Taxonomy highlighted by @ChrisMcGrane84's excellent Task Design course 1/2

The idea being that staff and students use these as a framework for developing effective learners throughout school. Students can work towards different levels of an award system based on watching videos, answering quizzes and then exemplifying strategies across subjects.
