The 10 most striking Kaplan-Meier curves (that I have seen) 𧔠1. Dual GLP1/GIP agonist, Tirzepatide, for prevention of type 2 diabetes in people with obesity It's easy to miss the dark blue line (15 mg group), because it never leaves the X axis:

Cutting NIH to save budget is like cutting the front lobe of brain to lose weight. Itâs <1% of body weight yet it governs reasoning and problem solving functions of the brain, basically determining how smart you are. Dumb move to send IT kids to do your brain surgery, America.
Without NIH funds to run research labs at academic institutions, as a country we cannot train PhD students. No physician scientists. No undergraduates get experience in labs. Nothing. Industry does none of these things. Other countries will have to take the lead.

Back to ECMO here in @GaHeart_NGHS and love it. Hereâs why a retro perfusion cannula (that I started in @cusm_muhc) is better than an antegrade (see below)

"In interventional cardiology we will use the metric system to measure things." "Like catheter diameters Sir?" "No - those we will measure using French sizes." "What about wires Sir?" "We will measure those in inches" "Why Sir?" "No one knows"

Wow! Practice changing EARLY TAVR RCT. For a long time, we waited for aortic stenosis patients to become symptomatic before considering therapy, based on old data (risk of surgery vs watchful waiting). ASYMPTOMATIC patients with severe AS, TAVR leads to a major reduction in MACE

1. See patient in acute pain 2. Prescribe pain medicine so they can avoid the ER 3. Patient goes to pharmacy, is told that pain medicine requires prior authorization by insurer (who gave no forewarning of such and will not reopen til next day) 4. Patient ends up in ER anyway

In the new era of combined AF ablation/LAAC, is there still a role for structural ICs performing LAAC?
