Oh don’t worry @azaustinsmith, I’m not leaving this place. How could I when it brings such constructive, respectful dialogue to my work?

When you put someone in power because they don’t care about the same people you don’t care about, the only certainty is that you will soon find out that they don’t care about you either.

So the brain worm serial cheater who decapitated a whale & dumped a dead bear is gonna be in charge of our nation’s health and the chick who shot her dog and her goat and lied about meeting with Kim Jong Un is gonna be in charge of our homeland security. We are living The Onion.

@ASFleischman The concept that no man is above the law was also strongly supported by the constitution, SCOTUS precedent, and the history of the United States.

Here in the U.S., government employees swear to "support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic" and to "well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office" on which they will enter. There is no personal oath to the president or to his agenda

"Still, it wasn’t the Democratic party that nominated Trump three times. It wasn’t Democrats who shied away from the fight against Trump. It’s the Republican party that has deeply, catastrophically, perhaps decisively failed America this past decade." https://t.co/b1KuqiD9zZ

When we Christians find ourselves elevating kings and ignoring the voices of the prophets who are calling the kings out, that’s when we know we are reading the Bible incorrectly. Or perhaps, that’s when we know we aren’t actually reading the Bible at all.

I remain with Coach!
Chin up, team. Take some time. Take care of yourself. Take care of your loved ones. Take care of your community. There are a million ways to make a difference—get back in the fight when you’re ready. And know that, whenever you are ready, I’ll be ready to get back in with you.

May I say a word for the Democratic Party for all its faults? It is the Republican Party that nominated Trump three times, that gave way to Trump, that supports and enables Trump. The Democratic Party in opposition could have done better. But at least they were in opposition.

I’ll never forget my New Testament professor telling me that sometimes God’s wrath looks like just letting people have the reality they demanded. The reality they voted for.

@ZelenskyyUa @KueblerSusan You have friends in the US. We will continue to support you no matter what Trump does. Don’t give in to him, we don’t trust him and neither should you. We will put pressure on our law makers and we can override him with legislation to help Ukraine and hold Putin accountable.

The 14th amendment was also clear as day that an insurrectionist shouldn’t hold office. But here we are.
.@Neal_Katyal on Trump’s call to end birthright citizenship: “The 14th Amendment is as clear as day that there is no way he can do that. If he tries that, he will lose in court every day of the week.”

Even with guardrails, @RuthMarcus is “most worried that this country is not what she thought it was, but someplace much more cruel and nasty and selfish, both in its attitude toward our fellow Americans and in its conception of America’s place in the world.” That’s my worry too
