Misleading. Legally, Uganda can ignore European Parliament but NOT without consequences. The Parliament influences funding decisions by the European Commission. It does not impose sanctions, but it can pressure the Council and Commission to do so. It can impact market access.

This afternoon, LOP @JoelSsenyonyi, other opposition leaders, and several worshippers joined Hon Winnie Byanyima for a Holy Mass for Dr. Kizza Besigye and other political prisoners at Rubaga Cathedral. However, the Mass was canceled after a directive by Gen. Museveni.
