Delighted to see our paper "Lines in the Landscape" published. Thanks to @MikePeacock86 for organising a great workshop for ditch "experts" a few years ago in Liverpool. They discussions there led to this publication. It highlights the importance of ditches in our landscapes.
I'm thrilled to see this paper out, which I co-led with @DitchOntologist, and featuring input from loads of excellent co-authors. It's our interdisciplinary perspective on ditches; what they do, why they matter, and how we should look after them.

Planting trees on peatlands leads to more GHG emissions then those trees sequester. 30cm of peat stores up to 327 tonnes of carbon per ha. Forestry = 145 T Ca per Ha. It does not make sense to plant trees on peatland as a climate change solution. @MHealyRae @agriculture_ie

Only 800 Tapanuli orangutans are left — and corporate giant @JardineMatheson plans to destroy their only rainforest home for a gold mine. We're calling on Jardines’ executive chairman #BenKeswick to stop the goldrush and halt the expansion -- join now:
