The CDC should pass this morratorium because Homelessness is a Public Health Crisis. And, the problem is impacted by the Covid19 Pandemic. They’ve forced folks out of hotels and placed them back in shelters! Where they’re 8-20 ppl in a room! Public Health is a political mess!
@stefkaufman
I was street homeless until about 6 weeks ago. The DHS (Department of Homeless Services) in NYC finally gave me a room at a Stabilizing Center. My health has improved. But, my mental health is still at risk. I'm stressed out and anxious most of the times. I need my own space!
@dreamhampton
Thx. for a critical perspective about Hip Hop. I think that the fact that the culture developed during a period of change in black economics in NYC, the rise of STDs & the crack cocaine economy had a lot to do w/ creating a fertile environment for those problems to take root.

@BlackDigitalHum
Wow! That's a great insight! And, I would add that Ayiti/Haitian Studies has contributed greatly to this field because the works by scholars such as Antenor Firmin in the 19th century ask similar questions and compel us to address the issue of racial hierarchies.
