Britain's first Surf Life Saving Club was formed in Bude on this day in 1953, inspired by Australian Allan Kennedy. Young people in Bude were trained in surf life saving techniques and tested by exam, successfully passing them on the 10th August 1953 - the Club was born 🛟🏊🏻♀️ 〓〓
