Google should have to add balance that when you choose “more personalized results”, you’re also .handing your data to Google + a trove of data brokers, whose intent is really only to take advantage of you.
Signal loss. Whether through browser, operating system, or search monopoly, Google appears to be getting more aggressive by the day in trying to convince users to flip switches that enable Google's passive surveillance when you're not even actively using Google's services.

Thank God -now that we know what malevolent overlords they are. And, intelligence without emotion is dangerous. Empathy is foundational to civilization.
