Whenever someone says you can’t do something—what they really mean is that *they* can’t do it.

A simple feature gives Discord an edge over other community platforms: "Mutual servers" Seeing the projects and communities you have in common with someone creates an immediate sense of shared identity and opportunity for conversation.

good skills for the future: adaptability and resilience. i think these are learnable! hard to answer the question of ‘what jobs will be safe’, but humans always find new things to do, and the future will likely be amazing. embracing change will be important.

When going through something difficult, console yourself like you would a good friend. When going through something positive, celebrate yourself like you would a good friend. When trying to accomplish something, encourage yourself like you would a good friend.

The most underrated key to living longer is companionship. Humans were meant to live with each other. Loneliness is a silent killer.

One of the most dangerous societal trends is our rush to demonize someone who changes their mind as a “flip flopper”. We should celebrate those with the willingness to change their mind in the face of new evidence or ideas. Evolve or die.

Question-Action Matrix Asking great questions uncovers the truth—bias for action builds upon it. The four quadrants: Q1: World-changers (rare!) Q2: Grinders/hustlers Q3: Philosophers/thinkers Q4: Dead zone Invest behind Q1s, hire more Q2s, spend time with Q3s, and avoid Q4s.

Identity Capital Identity capital is the base of experiences and traits that make us unique. When you're young, seek to build identity capital—pursue interesting experiences as much as you can. As you grow, leverage your identity capital to accelerate your career and life.

Intellectual Sparring Partners Most of us need fewer friends and more intellectual sparring partners. Friends are easy to come by—intellectual sparring partners are harder to find. They're willing to call you on your BS, question your assumptions, and push you to think deeply.

The 5 Types of Wealth Money is NOT the only type of wealth. There are 5 types: • Financial (money) • Social (relationships) • Physical (health) • Mental (knowledge, faith) • Time (freedom) The pursuit of financial wealth can rob you of the others. Don't let that happen.

Be with someone who will take care of you. Not materialistically, but take care of your soul, your well being, and your heart.

"When you can’t earn from the thing you want to do, you find something else to earn that money for you. But success can be its own failure. You start a business to fund your passion, then the business takes off and now you’re stuck managing employees and a Shopify store."
