I’ve said it before, but the deluge of AI generated bullshit is going to make it more important than ever to start teaching things like cover letter writing/résumé writing. Amidst all of the AI generated swill, knowing how to write/sound human will become increasingly valuable.

I’m getting ready to do a bit of traveling and I am having a hard time deciding whether I bring five books, a dozen books, or every unread book I own.

It’s always fun to watch the people who absolutely did not see a particular political event coming claiming that they actually always saw it coming.

Throughout history new technologies (not just computer related ones) have often been met with concerns about what their impacts may be on how people think. But just because people have often been concerned doesn’t mean their concerns have been baseless or ultimately inaccurate.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: people should really read David Noble’s “The Religion of Technology” and Jacques Ellul’s “The New Demons.”. People treating technology as a religion (and faith in technology having religious undertones) is not a new phenomena.
