@MLB Opening day is a day of promise. Anything is possible. Every team is undefeated. That is one of the things I love most about baseball. Coming in October 2021. @JrLibraryGuild Selection. Illustrated by Milan Pavlovic Published by @KidsCanPress

Cutting from Vladdy Jr. strutting across the clubhouse to a disconsolate Yankees fan staring into the middle distance as a bird flies by is cinema.

Amazing how the spa and the tunnel and the 413 never “run out of cash”… just daycares and schools and hospitals.

The Ford government has run out of cash for the $10/day childcare program, and without an infusion of federal funds, parent fees could increase next year. The education minister says “we need to get moving” on negotiations with Ottawa, which have yet to begin.

A rare photo of two young girls possibly waiting for the LRT to arrive at Yonge and Eglinton back in 1922. Their great grandkids continue this tradition over a century later.

It began as a stated act of fiscal responsibility has transformed into a power grab that eliminates a part of our democracy that precedes Canada. @PaulCalandra misleads Ontarians, his Ministry continues to underfund education while blaming the governance model. The truth matters!

@PaulCalandra actions only serve the right wing Trump supporting wing of this gov't. His approach to the education of Ont students is shameful and leaves parents removed from the process. Why punish families @fordnation ?

Here's a piece of literature by me, suitable for seventeen-year-olds in Alberta schools, unlike -- we are told -- The Handmaid's Tale. (Sorry, kids; your Minister of Education thinks you are stupid babies.) John and Mary were both very, very good children. They never picked

One of the fires in the Kawarthas is about 6 clicks from my partner's family cottage. Local community has amazing about offering space for people's livestock and the waterbombers have been out, but you know what would help? Ford not slashing the firefighting budget. #onfires

The Eglinton Crosstown has taken so long to build that the vehicles bought for it are now 10 years old and need maintenance work to run. 4 years late and $4 billion over budget. With this record of success, the Ford government is now ready to dig up the 401!

The head of Metrolinx says getting the slowly aging Eglinton Crosstown LRT vehicles available and reliable for all-day service is the latest issue facing crews as the work to launch the beleaguered line drags on.

We think we have a traffic problem in Toronto, but what we really have is a transit problem. What happened to The Better Way? Infrequent service, issues with safety and cleanliness, and a broken pricing model has pushed commuters who have cars, back into them. This is not good

The TTC is still short millions of riders. Fare capping could help bring them back. TTC ridership today is roughly where it was in 1991, when Toronto’s population was more than half a million smaller. #Opinion

The #1 thing @fordnation can do to support Ontarians and workers is to govern effectively, rather than just be a tariff hawk. Housing starts are collapsing. Unemployment rising even before the threat of tariffs. Almost every infrastructure project a boondoggle. Province

Canada shouldn’t settle for anything less than the right deal. Now is not the time to roll over. We need to stand our ground.   The increase in U.S. tariffs to 35 per cent is concerning, especially with tariffs still in place on steel, aluminum, autos, forestry and now copper.

Ford says we should respond to tariffs by "onshoring everything". Lets start by canceling: ➡️ ServiceOntario contracts with Wal-Mart and Staples ➡️ US contracts with our social and employment services ➡️ #OntarioPlace foreign megaspa spa deal with Therme #ONpoli

Pretty embarrassing for the Premier of Ontario @fordnation to say this considering this year alone he cut $42M from the wildfire fighting budget, 13 pilot vacancies, 100+ firefighter vacancies, 33% of the water bombers grounded, and he failed to procure new aircraft.

Torontonians of all political stripes should be united in telling the Provincial government to get the fuck out of our business. If you care about this city, that's the only reasonable position. Far too many of us are far too comfortable with the idea of being fucked with.
