As long as I’ve served Arizona, I’ve worked to help others see our common humanity & find common ground. That’s the same approach I’ll take to representing our great state in the Senate, where I’ll be an independent voice for all Arizonans.
Thank you, Arizona. Let’s get to work.
I’ve never commented about a fellow Senator’s choices/actions. Never once.
This, America, is absolutely irresponsible. You cannot be near other people while waiting for coronavirus test results. It endangers others & likely increases the spread of the virus.
During the Senate GOP lunch today, Moran told colleagues that Rand was at the gym this morning, per two sources briefed on the lunch, and that he was swimming in the pool. Rand got his COVID-19 results back this morning.
Back in DC, headed to the first day of Senate school.
I’m overcome with gratitude - thank you Arizona! It’s the privilege of my life to represent you. 🌵
In a natural extension of my service since I was first elected to Congress, I have joined the growing numbers of Arizonans who reject party politics by declaring my independence from the broken partisan system in Washington and formally registering as an Arizona Independent. 1/3
A woman's health care choices should be between her, her family, and her doctor. I voted for the Women's Health Protection Act and will continue working with anyone to protect women’s ability to make decisions about their futures.
“During this campaign I have been honored to meet with thousands of Arizonans in their workplaces, in coffee shops, in neighborhoods. Listening to their stories reminded me each and every day why we do this work and how much is left to do.”
This is outrageous, shameful, and incredibly disrespectful to the men and women keeping the U.S. Capitol safe and secure. We need it fixed and we need answers on how it happened.

BREAKING: Thousands of Guardsmen were forced to vacate congressional grounds on Thursday and are now taking their rest breaks outside and in nearby parking garages. W/

Overturning Roe v. Wade – after 5 decades of legal precedent – endangers the health of women in Arizona and across America. I’ve always supported women’s access to health care, and pledge to work with anyone to protect women’s ability to make their own decisions.
We hear “from the river to the sea” chanted at US protests. It’s on posters, even projected on university buildings
Here’s a map
See what “from the river to the sea” means
It means eradicating the state of Israel
It’s about eliminating Jews
It’s hate speech
It’s antisemitism
Good morning, Arizona! This race is about you and we're going to make sure your vote is counted. There are a lot of outstanding ballots – especially those mailed-in – and a lot of reasons to feel good! We're doing the work & will keep you updated. Thanks for being on Team Sinema!
“A few months ago, we lost a legend who exemplified all the best of AZ. Sen. McCain is irreplaceable, but his example will guide our next steps. He taught us to assume the best in others, to seek compromise instead of sewing division, & to always put country ahead of party.”
Arizona Governor Won't Require Mask Use as Coronavirus Cases Spike, Says People Need to 'Learn to Live' With Virus
*OR — we could wear masks and save fellow Arizonans’ lives. Seems like an easy and reasonable move?*
Question: "Justice Scalia used to say not such wonderful things about your views and you then still went to the opera with him. Was that a little awkward or hard to do?"
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg: "Not at all."
RBG talks about her friendship with Justice Antonin Scalia.
The PPP program is going to run out of funding soon - the Senate should approve add’l funding by unanimous consent ASAP. Small businesses need our help to survive during this emergency.
I support providing additional funding to the PPP to help AZ businesses keep workers employed during this public health crisis. The Senate should act this week to further fund the PPP by unanimous consent.
I am heartbroken. I just learned that we’ve lost my former intern and absolutely stellar young man Alexander Lofgren. He had a heart of gold and worked so hard for Arizona and our country. I’m sending so much love to his family and friends. May he rest in power. 💜
“It won’t be easy, and it won’t happen overnight, but we can work together to meet the challenges our country faces. We can do this differently. For our country, for our future, for Sen. McCain, and for each other I think we must.”
Nearly 2.8 million Arizonans have a pre-existing condition, and every single one of them deserves quality, affordable health care. We can’t go back to a time when they could be overcharged or denied coverage.
#AZSen
To our Arizona veterans and their families: Thank you for your service. Today and every day, we honor the brave men and women who have sacrificed so much to protect the freedoms we hold dear.
#ThankYouForYourService
#VeteransDay
“Let’s get this f*cking thing done.” That’s what
@MarthaMcSally
said just before voting to strip protections from the 2.8 million Arizonans with pre-existing conditions. McSally doesn’t care about your health care.

Our priorities in the Senate:
✅ support AZ's veterans and fix the VA
✅ create good jobs and grow AZ's economy
✅ fight for quality, affordable healthcare for Arizonans
✅ keep Arizona families safe
This Christmas Eve, we’re thinking of our brave servicemembers and their families – many of whom are spending the holiday apart this year – sacrificing so much to keep us safe and secure. Thank you.
America’s everyday families need a team ready to work hard and deliver real results. So glad
@JoeBiden
has
@KamalaHarris
on the team. Let’s get to work!
“As your Senator, that’s exactly what I’ll do. Not by calling names or playing political games, but by showing up and doing the work to keep Arizona moving forward.”
Over the past four years, I’ve worked proudly with other Senators in both parties and forged consensus on successful laws helping everyday Arizonans build better lives for themselves and their families. 2/3
Our nation lost a civil rights giant one year ago today. John Lewis was a personal hero of mine -- a man of principle and courage, who encapsulated all the qualities of a true leader. Rest in power, my dear friend.
This is the most absurdly dangerous and anti-science step
@dougducey
has taken (and that’s saying a lot, 2020).
Until kids under 12 have access to the vaccine, what are parents supposed to do? Just hope their kids don’t get sick and end up in the ICU?
.
@dougducey
announces incentive financing to school districts and charters that follow state laws "for the entirety of the 2020-21 school year." That means if you're mandating masks, you miss out on up to $1,800 extra in federal $$ per pupil

communities. Thank you.
Thank you, Arizona! We launched this campaign to fight for our shared Arizona values. Today we took one step closer to victory. I’m grateful for all your support and ready for the road ahead. Let’s go win this thing.

So moved by Sandra Day O’Connor’s announcement this morning. She IS the original cowgirl from the Arizona desert; she committed her life to our country and civil discourse. Forever grateful for her, and thinking of her as she battles dementia and Alzheimer’s in these times.
I'm reaching across the aisle to help everyone get a shot at the American dream through education – by learning a trade or attending community college or university. Are you with me?
Idea - instead of trying to convince everyone that you’re ‘only 3rd worst’ in the world instead of ACTUAL WORST - take real action to slow the spread, keep Arizonans out of the hospital, reduce deaths.
This is pathetic.
Arizona Gov.
@dougducey
wants to reassure residents: NYT report that we're No. 1 in world for CV test rate is 'misleading.' Message to reporters: Check out Brazil & Peru.
It’s ok to eat an entire carton of chocolate peanut butter swirl non-dairy ice cream when you’re one week between an Ironman and a half Ironman, right? Asking for a friend. 😬
Happy Election Day! I started my morning with a run on the U of A campus in my hometown of Tucson. Next, off to thank Arizonans for voting.
I’m so grateful to be here on this gorgeous day.
I’ll save you the read, Arizona -
@dougducey
isn’t one of these governors.
Weird, because our coronavirus rates are growing more rapidly than either TX or FL.
Huh.
Back at it this afternoon, volunteering with
@cindymccain
at the
@DignityHealth
vaccination pod!
The covid-19 vaccine is safe and I encourage all Arizonans to get vaccinated when it’s available for you and your family.
June 6 was not an ok time to go to a party. Now is not an ok time to go to a party.
I’m embarrassed that
@dougducey
won’t follow CDC guidelines himself or protect Arizonans from the coronavirus.
We can do better, AZ.
Wear a mask, stay 6 ft away & don’t go to fricking parties.
I expected
@dougducey
to take no meaningful action to combat coronavirus at his press conference yesterday. Doing little during this health crisis is 100% on brand.
But I didn’t expect him to give credence to clumsy, orchestrated efforts to undermine faith in our election. 🤷🏼♀️
Asked directly if he thought there was fraud or deceit in the election, Ducey says, “Any widespread fraud or irregularity, that I have not seen. I’ve heard about it but I have not seen it.”
We're so close to winning this election and giving everyday Arizonans a voice in the U.S. Senate. To everyone who's knocked a door, called their friends and neighbors, or chipped in a contribution to our campaign: thank you.
Now let's go win.
#AZSen
I faced tough times as a kid and learned the power of hard work. We'll keep delivering for Arizona, getting veterans the benefits they've earned, helping working families get ahead, and creating good jobs for Arizonans.
We’re thrilled to have led negotiations on the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. This legislation shows our government can work as it was intended to -- and represents the largest-ever investment in our nation’s critical infrastructure.
I talked to a Metro Phoenix resident today who told me his wife waited 17 days for her coronavirus results. She just got the results back; she tested positive.
He said a 17 day wait for results makes it impossible/useless to do any contact tracing. He’s right.
It’s Sunday morning. 23 states have enacted shelter in place to protect their citizens and save lives.
Arizona isn’t one of those states.
The data shows that enacting shelter in place statewide slows the spread of the virus, eases the burden on our hospitals, and saves lives.
This provision is getting woefully – and perhaps purposefully – misconstrued.
The border automatically closes when migrant ENCOUNTERS reach 5,000. This does not mean that 5,000 migrants are permitted to enter the country every day.
I don't see anything in the bill that legalizes 5,000 people crossing illegally into the US every day. That's just the threshold for Title 42-like authority (with more teeth than Title 42).
Election officials say it might take several days after Election Day for all ballots to be counted. Don’t worry, that means every vote is being carefully counted and your voice is being heard.
Wondering whether the vaccine is safe? I took my 1st shot yesterday. My arm’s a little sore like with the flu vaccine. But I feel great. And my run today? Faster than yesterday’s. I hope you all will join me in getting the vaccine as soon as it’s available to you & your families.
Just a quick note, AZ - June 17, new guidelines for restaurants were issued. Capacity was limited to under 50% of fire code. Masks required.
THIS IS NOT NEW.
Link to the June 17 executive order and restaurant guidance here:
What the hell is going on?
If anyone thinks our schools are opening Aug 17th given our current trajectory, think again.
@dougducey
has been behind the 8 ball from the start of this pandemic, and the too-little-too-late half-efforts now will not lead us to safely open schools anytime soon. This is shameful
“Reopening schools safely is a moral imperative. Teachers are as essential as nurses and grocery delivery workers who have been on the pandemic frontlines.”
Meghan lives in NYC. She’ll describe what is coming to Arizona in the next several weeks.
It is blatantly obvious that Arizona needs to take further action immediately to slow the spread and save lives. This isn’t guesswork - we can actually SEE what is coming.
So far I have 5 local Arizona interviews set up between tomorrow and Monday to talk about the
#CoronavirusOutbreak
- anyone in Arizona who wants to speak to me, I am here. I don’t know what messaging isn’t being relayed by our leaders but we need to WAKE UP to the dangers of this
.
@MarthaMcSally
continues to lie to Arizonans about her record on health care. Here's the truth: I voted to protect coverage for the 2.8 million Arizonans with pre-existing conditions. Martha voted to take it away.
#AZSen
New Martha McSally ad says she's "leading the fight" to "force insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions."
She voted for the AHCA, which undid Obamacare and included waivers that'd let insurance companies charge more for pre-ex conditions.
