Yesterday, he passed away after his battle with glioblastoma. He fought with a fierce desire to get back to caring for patients, advancing transplant & amyloid research, and enjoying special moments with family. Rest easy dad. You’ll forever be my idol and my inspiration🫀🤍

9.9.2022 - during a clinic afternoon, my dad slipped out to have a MRI bc he had developed headaches + a visual field deficit. Immediately after, he was told to go get admitted. Instead, he went back to clinic and finished seeing his patients prior to getting care for himself 🥺.

1. DPP3 = enzyme involved in angiotensin II & enkephalin cleavage ✂️ High levels are associated with cardiogenic shock, and early reductions are associated with favorable outcomes. Procizumab is a monoclonal antibody against DPP3 that is heading into clinical trials in Europe 🇪🇺.

6. Me learning that 38 hot does not refer to having a slightly elevated body temperature 🤷♂️.
I loved this day. It included:. 1. Giving my M4 a well-deserved 🤜🏽🤛🏻 on rounds. 2. A post-rounds team @Starbucks run. 3. Seeing a video of my pt’s late son playing drums. 4. @DxRxEdu sending me @AaronLBerkowitz’ foot drop schema & using it at the bedside. 5. So much joy.💛
