The album’s definitely grown on me more but it’s still true that this isn’t her best work and is largely forgettable when compared to a lot of her earlier music.

Icl it’s more because of the music imo. This felt like a passion project and it shows because I don’t think she really stretched herself to bring anything *new* to those sounds. Aside from Gorgeous and maybe one or two other tracks on the album, many of them feel recycled.
Is it me or this Doja Cat’s album struggle to have lasting impact, but not because of the music itself. BUT how she treats each era. Look at the transition from Hot Pink and Planet Her (when she was at peak popularity) to Scarlet, she didn’t just evolve, she completely rejected
