This is a huge accomplishment! When people ask me about my favorite applications of AI in clinical medicine, I often point to the Queen of Hearts ECG model - and now it’s approved. Big congrats to the team @RobertHermanMD @smithECGBlog @PendellM.

We're proud to share that the #PMcardio STEMI AI ECG model has received the @US_FDA Breakthrough Device Designation, recognizing its potential to fill a critical gap in the early detection of acute heart attacks—among the most urgent and deadly conditions in medicine. #FDA #BDD

Every time I re-enroll as a provider who treats Medicaid patients in NY, I have to print 40 forms, sign them all in blue pen, and physically mail them in. This is in a blue state that ostensibly wants to maximize the number of Medicaid-accepting providers! We have to do better.

Two contractors spent 9 years and $200M working on a modern provider enrollment system at @CMSGov. After 14 missed deadlines, zero usable output was produced.

I think the most interesting way to think about GLP-1s right now is as a treatment for the modern condition. Humans got very good at hijacking our own reward systems — with food, with screens, with fentanyl, etc — and these medicines seem to miraculously save us from ourselves.

Great summary, and it's telling that Amy frames this as her advice to friends & family. Most docs do some version of this clinically-grounded, system-aware care navigation in their private lives. At @CounselHealth we're trying to democratize this type of first-touch care because.

This sounds minor but the tools that most clinicians use everyday were not built for them. They were built for revenue capture, or regulatory compliance, to solve a problem for someone else. How bad can another checkbox be?. Care delivery orgs of the future must think differently.

For Christmas, our Eng team @CounselHealth built Clinical a surprise: the ability to zoom and rotate clinical pictures within our homegrown EMR — they’d noticed us squinting and craning our necks!. Really grateful to work with a top-tier product & engineering team.

Hospital-at-home is a good example of all healthcare being local, despite the DC lobbying and national media attention. In @JAMA_current, @HashemZikry digs deeper: who are the haves and have-nots, and why?. Awesome contribution to the literature from a guy with much more to add.
