Physical barriers make it harder for many people to use the #NationalCycleNetwork and can prevent access altogether❌ Find out how we're working with local authorities across the UK to remove restrictive barriers and ensure routes are more accessible👇 https://t.co/caqTPw6YLW

In a car-obligatory society, teens rely on parents to chauffeur them to and from sports; counting down the days until they can drive themselves. In a car-optional one, they’ve already been navigating their city for years; moving safely, happily, and healthily with their friends.

We can all do our bit to call out dangerous driving and make it clear it's not welcome in our communities. I'm really grateful to Birmingham's @GreenLaneMasjid for producing this hard-hitting film on road safety. One mistake behind the wheel can change lives forever.

A U-turn on safe residential roads would destroy any hopes of a cycle-friendly future. Tell politicians that you want action for safer cycling in England. Use our quick online form! Write to the PM now: 📝 https://t.co/QHEZozEMBE

Great work from our East Midlands team 👏 We're working hard to remove restrictive barriers like these from routes across the UK to make the National Cycle Network more accessible to everyone 👇
We recently worked with @NatForestCo to redesign and remove 8 barriers along their circular route and recreational green space ‘Conkers circuit’ to create more accessible routes for all to use! Look at the before and after photos below. What a difference!

Live reaction of my boyfriend and I trying the new ‘bike lane’ on ‘High St Ken’. 😅 So disappointing. I’m all for “be grateful for any progress”, but this is a joke. It isn’t even on the high street!… 🤦🏻♀️

A resident has shared their petition with me asking for the final short phase of the Binley cycleway to be completed in full to a high-quality standard, avoiding shared use paths. If you live, work or study in #Coventry, you can add your voice here 1/2 https://t.co/YPu8FbA24K

BREAKING: The Stonehenge tunnel is going ahead. The Transport Secretary has granted a Development Consent Order (DCO) to construct it. A DCO previously issued for the project was quashed by the High Court in July 2021 amid concern about the environmental impact.

Pavement parking is dangerous and unacceptable. Some of it can and should be enforced right now using tools already available to local authorities and the Police. But we also urgently need national legislation to get on top of the problem. https://t.co/DKqinqS0K1

Teenagers' voices are missing from policy making, and we need to do more to meet their active travel needs.
With 58% of all trips nationally made by bike, teenagers are among the biggest beneficiaries of Dutch infrastructure. From a young age, they enjoy the freedom of a driver’s license; without the added stress, cost and danger. The scene outside our son’s high school this morning.

I would love to see local councillors come together to start to deliver on reducing road deaths. @for_birmingham is communicating with @BrumLeader with that in mind. If you are concerned about road violence in the city, please raise those concerns with your councillor(s).

Worried about political backlash to charging for parking? Take London's lead - they didn't hold public meetings about it. Instead they surveyed residents about their preferences, who cared more about trees, green space and uncluttered sidewalks.
