We apologise for a deleted tweet in which past leaders of the WRU were referred to as "clowns". Clowning is a noble tradition stretching back to ancient Egypt and to the Venetian court jesters. We apologise to all clowns for likening them to Roger Lewis and Steve Phillips.

This is all we ask and should be the bare minimum. Striking backroom deals and rushing them through is not the way to go. Fairness and transparency is all we ask. Tough decisions are needed but how this board has gone about it is truly shameful. #EGM #WRUShameOnYou
