Imagine being so scientifically illiterate that you see “data” like these and infer anything other than whatever produced the data is laughably useless.
Liberia has an IQ of 45, by USA psychiatric standards, they are “unable to live on their own”, “understand metaphors”, “understand sarcasm”, “cook food themselves”, “count beyond 5 or 10”

“Comparable to therapy” - standardized effect size of .02-.05 in the figure 🤦🏽‍♂️.
Stanford paid 35,000 people to quit social media. This was the largest study on emotional health in history. The results were so shocking, scientists called it "comparable to therapy.". Here's what happens when you break free from the algorithm: 🧵

I’ve been fascinated by the responses to this. What SHOULD we expect “the” replication rate to be? It’s not at all a trivial question, and I don’t find it likely to be anywhere near 95%.
I've been thinking a lot about this question. Many people claim that ~50% replication rates represent a "crisis" but I've never seen that judgment justified (or even explained). What should the rate be? Why should be expect that rate? Why SHOULDN'T it be 50%.

I heard this quote by @prophiphop probably like 10 years ago that goes something like “racism is killing Black bodies, but it’s also killing White souls” and it’s stuck with me so strongly. Can you imagine this being your last living experience? Why? How is it even comforting?.
My Mom told me she once had a patient (an older White man) whose last words were “N*gger N*gger N*gger” before he closed his eyes and transitioned from this life. Some people have that type of hate at the core of their being.
