Anthropic announced Claude Skills and my first reaction was: “So what?” We already have AGENTS⋅md, slash commands, nested instructions, even MCPs. The interesting bit isn’t what Skills does, it’s how it does it.

this AWS outage is an excellent opportunity to remind dev bloggers out there - you don't need to use a service like Medium. it's extremely easy to use a static site generator and have your html served directly: Ghost, Hugo, Gatsby, Jekyll - there's plenty of options.
