It really sucks how the key to writing is really to just be stressed out for days before you actually sit down to write, obsessively thinking about the topic to the detriment of your health and personal life.

Hot off the press. I am delighted to share my latest article 'The making and unmaking of the Bhalswa landfill in Delhi'. Hopefully the article will help us move beyond a narrow understanding of landfills as 'eye sores', often portrayed by int. media. 🧵 https://t.co/DkNn7vStJQ

India has many Zohran Mamdanis, ie, insurgent politicians of marginalised identities being effective in mainstream politics from the left. The thing is, they are in NCP, AAP, TMC, RJD, DMK, SP, Congress and people of Zohran's social class in India don't recognise them as such.

Mamdani experiment is only possible in certain democratic polity like NYC. Not so easy to replicate here because of how class intersects with caste. Our woke liberal candidates have very little understanding of how social stratification works.

Super insightful article. @SachinTiwale assiduously breaks down governance logic of urban water supply and it's reciprocal relationship with urban infrastructure and the realisation of the right to water!
