Hi all! Thrilled to share my latest research in ST&HV. When is quality not about quality? My ethnographic work shows how market power turns scientific standards into tools of exploitation in Indian agriculture. https://t.co/7cVjTJFyRd

I examine the fallout of quality's unstable nature on expert and farm infrastructures in India's FCV tobacco sector, drawing on a state regulatory exp...

It really sucks how the key to writing is really to just be stressed out for days before you actually sit down to write, obsessively thinking about the topic to the detriment of your health and personal life.

Hot off the press. I am delighted to share my latest article 'The making and unmaking of the Bhalswa landfill in Delhi'. Hopefully the article will help us move beyond a narrow understanding of landfills as 'eye sores', often portrayed by int. media. 🧵 https://t.co/DkNn7vStJQ

India has many Zohran Mamdanis, ie, insurgent politicians of marginalised identities being effective in mainstream politics from the left. The thing is, they are in NCP, AAP, TMC, RJD, DMK, SP, Congress and people of Zohran's social class in India don't recognise them as such.
I want for India what's happening for NYC. Idk how it will happen but totally manifesting a Zohran Mamdani for our country.

Mamdani experiment is only possible in certain democratic polity like NYC. Not so easy to replicate here because of how class intersects with caste. Our woke liberal candidates have very little understanding of how social stratification works.

"Make love, not war" is an anti-war slogan that gained prominence during the Vietnam War. The new American slogan is “Make trade, not war”. 😂😂

Super insightful article. @SachinTiwale assiduously breaks down governance logic of urban water supply and it's reciprocal relationship with urban infrastructure and the realisation of the right to water!
My op-ed in today’s The Hindu critiques the per capita water supply standard — highlighting its lack of empirical grounding, objective rationale & validity. https://t.co/b8AuIpn1XV

Ostensibly competing suppliers of imported coal, the two business groups are joined at the hip and may actually be helping each other out, finds an investigation.
