What the Trump administration is doing is beyond reckless - it’s unconscionable. Its failures on Ukraine are catastrophic… and Alaska 2025 unfortunately isn’t even the worst of it. via @NYTimes.

Evacuees at a shelter in eastern Ukraine reacted angrily to talk that land that has long been theirs could be given to Russia in exchange for peace.

While removing ineligible recipients from Social Security is important for the program’s integrity, these savings do pale in comparison to systemic waste across government. The GAO estimates that progress on their recommendations could lead to “billions more in cost-savings” that.
ICYMI: President Trump announced that 275,000 illegal immigrants have been removed from Social Security, directly protecting benefits for American seniors.

Jake Sullivan’s legacy: Ukraine coalition-building (unfortunately, without any guts or teeth), China tech competition strategy - which fails to take into consideration the realities of business - and a “foreign policy for the middle class” that seemingly ended neoliberal.
On GPS, @ 10am & 1pm ET Sunday on @CNN ….• What was achieved at the high-stakes Trump–Putin summit in Alaska? I’ll discuss w/ fmr Biden Nat’l Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.• @CarnegieRussia director @AlexGabuev joins to assess what the summit means for Putin & how it will

This isn’t leadership. And regardless of the exact quote(s), a U.S. president citing a foreign adversary’s views to validate claims about American electoral processes crosses a fundamental line. Our democracy’s legitimacy shouldn’t be subject to validation from authoritarian.
Trump admits Putin manipulated him without him even knowing it:. "Putin said something -- one of the most interesting things. He said 'your election was rigged because you have mail in voting.' He said, ' …-- no country has mail in voting.” @atrupar .

Another sharp piece on China: Trump’s tariff “bravado“ followed by chip carve-outs isn’t strategy - it’s retreat disguised as policy. U.S. businesses share blame when they stay quiet, tolerating flip-flops that inject uncertainty and embolden Beijing. They need to push back.
My latest take on US-China relations, in @TIME, explains why ties appear to have stabilized temporarily.

Context matters, Congresswoman: border encounters have reached historic lows in 2025, but the dramatic decline actually began in March 2024 - 10 months before Trump took office. While his policies likely accelerated existing trends, the 77% drop had already occurred under Biden.
Encounters at our Southwest border have plummeted since President @realDonaldTrump has taken office. All we needed was a new President to secure the border and enforce the many laws we already have on the books!

Cuts through Ukraine policy noise: sanctions failed for a decade because Putin values power over wealth. We keep trying failed economic pressure instead of facing reality - military defeat prospects would force real negotiations. Essential reading.

Trump is giving Putin a most wonderful gift.

This looks more like companies making defensive moves to avoid being singled out rather than genuine economic momentum. Businesses shouldn’t have to make investment decisions based on fear of political targeting. That’s not how healthy markets work.
The winning continues! Even more manufacturing opportunities for America’s hard-working families. Let’s go! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸.

Congresswoman, are you actually holding “genuine” town halls with real TX-24 constituents, or are you simply doing virtual events with pre-screened questions? Your constituents in gerrymandered TX-24 aren’t seeing any actual benefits from Trump’s policies - just political theater.
When I’m back home, I hear from North Texans who are glad @POTUS prioritized security at our border and are excited we just passed one of the strongest tax cutting bills ever, ensuring they keep more of their hard-earned dollars.

Talking tough about “eradicating” sanctuary policies in D.C. makes for good headlines — but it won’t magically solve crime or deport “very bad” actors. Real public safety takes real policy, not posturing for political points.
Eradicating Sanctuary City, pro-criminal alien policies are key to apprehending and deporting all sorts of very bad foreign invaders. This is an important reform by @RealTomHoman and will help deliver stronger public safety for our nation’s capital!.

Great to see support for North Texas educators! These institutions’ continued success will depend on maintaining an environment where top academic talent feels welcome - including protecting academic freedom and free inquiry that allows universities to attract world-class faculty.
North Texas is home to outstanding local schools and world-class universities. Their success depends on having top talent to teach and inspire the next generation. It was awesome to see so many of our educational institutions represented at the North Texas Job Fair, recruiting

Bessent’s stance arguably reflects Trump’s “strategy:” keep trade deals separate from investment security. While this “America First” approach sounds tough, complete separation is highly likely to backfire. Better solution? Targeted screening of a handful of sensitive sectors.
Treasury Secretary Bessent dismissed the possibility that Chinese investments in the US could be part of any trade pact.

No. Nope. Get the facts. Apparently “rampant violence” means a 35% drop in violent crime in 2024 to 30-year lows, with homicides down 32% and carjackings down 53%. Meanwhile, the same folks claiming budget “cuts” are oddly silent about how DC’s police budget actually increased in.
Head of the DC Police Union supports @POTUS’ moves to protect D.C. and notes the root causes of rampant violence go back to BLM era policy changes by the D.C. city council to handcuff law enforcement and cut police budgets. When Leftists stop police from doing their job and.

Trump’s additional 90-day trade extension screams (once again) amateur hour. His administration is clearly out of its league in these China negotiations: threatening tariffs then backing down shows no coherent strategy. Meanwhile, US business leaders enable this chaos by staying.

NYT buries the lead: Montana workers losing “the exact jobs Trump swore to protect” due to his tariffs/trade wars, yet article frames it as unclear blame instead of broken campaign promise. That worker quote IS the story. via @NYTimes.

Anger over well-paid manufacturing jobs giving way to lower-wage work fueled President Trump’s rise. With his movement now in power, who gets blamed as the trend continues?

President Trump said he needed to send in the Guard to secure the nation’s capital. But on Jan. 6, 2021 — the most lawless day in recent Washington history — he had a very different reaction.

Spare us the theatrics. What’s “serious action” when it’s really political theater that ignores root causes and tramples rights? Protecting communities means real solutions, not headline - chasing stunts dressed up as law and order.
It’s truly amazing how outrageously Democrats react every time @POTUS or Republicans take serious action to stop criminals from harming law abiding citizens or trashing our cities.

A 15% “finder’s fee” for the White House on export licenses puts pay-to-play over national security. The U.S. government shouldn’t monetize security risks or act as a partner in Nvidia’s China sales. via @NYTimes.

In a highly unusual arrangement with President Trump, the companies are expected to kick 15 percent of what they make in China to the U.S. government.
