Not just a critic but usually with an agenda already before going into school for an inspection. It's not abt helping school be better, it's to turn schools ripe for MATs coz allegedly, only MATs are the only way education & schools can be kept + only solution to schools. Nope!
Ofsted has moved from being ‘critical friend to simply a critic’, the children’s commissioner @Rachel_deSouza has said, as she called on incoming chief @martyneoliver to fix ‘what went wrong’ under his predecessor https://t.co/m1vhBgggNJ

This underlines why the Governments forced academisation policy has to go under a new government. It’s never been about standards.
Schools that remain within local authority control continue to perform better in Ofsted inspections than those that became academies, according to a new analysis by @LGAcomms

Is tutoring set to become a permanent feature of our education system, and a key plank of pupil premium strategies in years to come? Dig a bit deeper into the data and there are warning signs for the long-term sustainability of tutoring says @nick_brook

This is why we are against academisation & MATs. No matter if one might be nicer for now, objectives are not really high quality kids'education, is it? To that politician who said MATs= Freedom Would he send his kids to MAT run school like this?? https://t.co/6UqvNwbLKo

Angry parents have compared a school in Sheffield to a 'prison camp', due to the points system being used to hand out detentions.

Reflecting on this I’m still really staggered how much we had to be on the front foot because of decisions made in secret and total lack of information @MarkBoylanEd
Academy order for @KESSheffield REVOKED. When parent campaigners started this we were told nothing we could do. We didn't agree. Congrats to the staff who turned over inadequate rating. Relief is not the word. @warwickmansell @branwenjeffreys @JohnGRoberts @jackydys @LutheBlue

Would be great if the DfE held open meetings on its academies policy, where parents could raise concerns, as it seems to have done for MAT leaders. Again, the policy is not set up to interact directly with those depending on it. So much for the Nolan principle of openness.
Regions Group chief says the DfE’s new commissioning guidance aims to make the department’s academisation decision-making process more open, as MAT leaders say communication from the department was ‘one way’ https://t.co/tGtLMxRmXw

All parents voices ARE valid in their children's education, the fate of their school IS their concern. Amazing result for school!! If you don't try to fight it, you won't know if you can win. #handsoffkes

How sad it would be in future that we begin the sentence w/ "Once upon a time, schools were not privatised or under MAT trust & education is accessible to everyone w/ education profession respected and not deskilled.' Think abt expression of baby ewoks in Star wars over stories!

Given the recent news on schools turning round inadequate judgements back to good quickly, what does that mean for the mantra that only a ‘strong trust’ can save them
Wrote something for @YorksBylines Have Sheffield parent campaigners won their fight against forced academisation?
