This will get quietly passed over but it's an incredibly significant moment. They do not consider Democratic representatives or their voters to be legitimate participants in our politics. They want a single-party state in place of democracy and are making it so, piece by piece.
This briefing is SOLELY for GOP senators, I’m told. Comes as some Republicans have publicly taken issue with the lack of information coming from the Trump administration on the escalating strikes.

Update: the DOJ has now pulled this sentencing memo from the docket. Please judge for yourself whether this fits the definition of Orwellian.
New: Two federal prosecutors have been placed on leave at the direction of the White House after they filed a sentencing memo seeking 27 months in prison for a pardoned January 6th rioter who brought illegal guns and ammunition to former President Obama’s house in 2023. Two

Trump Org’s income in the first half of 2024 was $51 million. In the first half of 2025 it rose to $864 million. A massive percentage came from foreigners. It should be the biggest scandal in the history of American politics. But few even care. https://t.co/LOycrcd3Ha

The U.S. president’s family raked in more than $800 million from sales of crypto assets in the first half of 2025 alone, a Reuters examination found. Much of that cash came from foreign sources.

Coincidentally the same admin that enacted the largest SNAP cuts in history a few months ago. The same admin that under a month ago released guidance saying they could use money from the contingency fund but then deleted that guidance and now say they can’t.
Lots of reporting on SNAP getting the details wrong. SNAP is not set to run out of money on November 1. There’s money in the contingency fund to pay benefits. The Trump admin is illegally refusing to deliver benefits on November 1, despite having funding to pay benefits.
