It’s an interesting comparison for me because I’ve seen & worked for both. The finance bros have much simpler definitions of success so winning is very difficult but uncomplicated. Startup & tech bros have a much broader problem set.

The difference I see is that FAANG / SF tech people are always “grinding” in occasionally perfunctory ways while the Finance Bros know when busy season is coming & will go play golf on Friday afternoons and take 3 weeks off before it gets crazy. More “burst” than consistent grind.

Finance tech people (the ones who get in) are almost all studs. The nepo kid thing is overstated. It is hard to rest & vest when your relative success is quantifiable & visible to everyone. This may contradict your priors.

I read the entire code of conduct and here’s where they may have gotten me:. I jokingly said I would “mug Mickey Mouse”. There is a term in the COC that forbids violence. It was a joke and Mickey Mouse is a fictional character. I use potty language sometimes. Profanity!.

If X at any point replies to me or reverses their demonetization decision I will reply here, post screenshots, and tell the exact truth as I understand it. No harm no malice. I will walk it back & apologize. Town square.

Please like these tweets if you see them. I am not getting, and have to date never been, paid for any of it (that’s the whole point of this thread). I just want more people to see the reality of the situation.

“Creator Revenue Share” monetization option, which I applied for a couple weeks ago, was accepted to, and is usually is at the top of this list, has totally disappeared from my X Premium account
