Is there a statue in the world of a person that by today’s standards did not carry out or believe in something we find abhorrent? Should we do a statue audit, throw them in the bin & just start again?

Crazy to think the giant tortoises alive today were born before WW2 but did nothing to stop it.

How embarrassing. “People in Australia doesn’t have the understanding of the history of Police killings here”. No; WE definitely do understand. We also have our own history of killings at the hands of police. What ignorance.

Striking how some prominent women have said some ugly things online, apologised immediately and are yet to return. Others say reprehensible things—seniors should die for the economy; Aboriginal genocide would’ve happened anyway—with a tie on, never apologise and get syndicated.

We have a duty as scientists and journalists to ensure rigour in our work and care in its reporting. We are _all_ responsible.
