I just wanted to say.. social work is tough at the moment; we’ve been fighting a pandemic for many years now and will continue to after this pandemic is over. Yet, every day we plaster a smile on, we fight with pride and we carry on. Be proud of being a social worker always ❤️

If the government have £2.5bn to spend on helping transform children’s lives could I suggest 3 better ways than National Service 1.Reform children’s social care 2.Invest in early intervention to improve mental health 3.Abolish the 2 child benefit cap

I’m running Cardiff Half Marathon in October 2024 for @barnardos and super excited to run this time. As a social worker, I’m running for all the children and young people in need and hoping to raise money too! I would love it if you can support my run -

New data highlights that many babies and young children are not getting the safe, happy, and healthy start to life that they deserve. We're urging the next Government to put #ChildrenAtTheTable and make good childhoods a national priority. Read more: https://t.co/11EfnTuVC8

Interesting article from @CommunityCare, including @BASW_Cymru's Director, @ProfSamBaron. 🏴Wales had seen a drop in applications to social work courses in recent years but an increase in the value of bursaries may have helped reverse this trend. More➡️ https://t.co/9EX3iwoH7F

This is devastating, being apart of this organisation as a young person changed all aspects of my life and opened the door to so many opportunities. Gutted
The British Youth Council is sad to announce its permanent closure after more than 75 years of championing the voices of young people. https://t.co/HkK5U3dAIW

To celebrate World Social Work Day today, the @BASW_Cymru held a drop in session at the @SeneddWales to fly the flag for the profession. Loads of pictures to post tomorrow. Almost 40% of all MSs dropped by to chat. Amazing! #WSWD2024 #SocialWorkWales

An estimated 500,000 children experience child sexual abuse each year, yet child victims face a postcode lottery in accessing support. We're calling for the Victims and Prisoners Bill to be strengthened so all child victims are guaranteed access to support and advocacy services.

As social workers, we work to protect, uphold and advance everyone's human rights. ✊ But the #RwandaBill seeks to rip basic human rights away from people seeking safety in the UK. ❌ So we've joined with 260+ organisations UK-wide to call on the House of Lords to reject it ⬇️
