BASW has finished giving evidence to module 8 of the Covid Inquiry on Children & Young People. We put on record our HUGE gratitude to all social workers across the UK for all you did during the pandemic, and continue to do so.
π½οΈ Government emergency planning for future pandemics and other national crises must recognise the unique statutory roles & responsibilities of social workers. That includes specific guidance, access to PPE, and inclusion of social work expertise in national resilience planning.

Everyone at BASW and @SWU_UK is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of long-standing member and activist, Angi Naylor. Angi was always a woman of action and could be seen marching at protests, in solidarity, and at Pride with her wife Maureen β often with her trusty guitar.
