Nearly 1 in 3 UK children in the UK live in poverty. The govt could lift 500,000 children out of poverty by scrapping: The two-child limit. ❌ The benefit cap. ❌ 📢 Email your MP today: https://t.co/7cFX2WqaS8

But close to 4 million children could still be in poverty by 2029. Every child deserves the chance to dream, learn and play without poverty holding them back.

Poverty is stealing children’s childhoods. Too many are worrying about meals, bills and stress instead of school and play. On behalf of the 550,000 children set to be lifted out of poverty by the new #ChildPovertyStrategy, we welcome the Government’s actions.

For families already struggling, this winter means cold homes and empty cupboards. We’re helping with the essentials, so no child feels left out at Christmas. Please help give Christmas back to children living in poverty. ➡️ https://t.co/VYMY4EGUtI

This week we brought people together in Parliament to mark the first #NationalCareLeaversMonth. Every young person leaving care deserves stability, opportunity & a system that listens. Together we can ensure the Children’s Wellbeing & Schools Bill delivers real change.

We did it! The two-child limit ends in April - a change we fought for, lifting 350,000 children immediately out of poverty. But the job isn’t done. The benefit cap still holds families back. With nearly 1 in 3 children in poverty, the government must go further.

"Up to 350,000 children could now be lifted out of poverty.  However, with one in three children growing up in poverty, there is still much more to do. (5/6)

“For too long, the two-child limit on benefits has hurt families who were already struggling. Too many children have been going to school hungry, unable to concentrate and returning to a cold home at the end of the day. (4/6)

But the benefit cap remains, holding back the children in the very deepest poverty. With 1 in 3 children in the UK growing up in poverty, we must go further. (2/3)

The end of the two-child limit is hugely welcome. Around 350,000 children will be lifted out of poverty. This is a major win for families and for the organisations that have campaigned for years. Here’s Emrys explaining more. (1/3)

For years, this limit has pushed struggling families into hardship. Ending it would bring us closer to a fairer system that supports every child. #ChildPoverty #TwoChildLimit (2/2)
