Modern computer graphics wouldn't be the same without the work that Catmull contributed to the field. A true legend in every aspect.

Human ingenuity is the process of remixing old ideas in a new light, creating something novel in the process. It's no different here. You can't argue that this game vista is not beautifully compelling, regardless of its source.
Interesting to see the praise for this AI-invented visual style. Everybody wants it, and indie devs are rushing to prototype it & make it real.

the scariest experience I ever had as a kid was playing ocarina of time, trying to avoid all the redeads while franticly entering in the sun song sequence. I still randomly think about this.

Are single player games the only type of software that is truly an "artifact," in a sense frozen in a point in time? Beyond bug fixes, its feature complete on release. I can't think of any other software category that's like this.

I can't even see how this could not eventual happen. We just need an averagely intellectual model where 50% of the population benefits from following unsolicited AI advice verbatim. Forget AI superintelligence, the real threat is AI average intelligence.

Agentic inversion is happening and it's guaranteed to increase over time at the current status quo. The critical point being it has progressed so far that we just become mere extensions to it, an avatar for a mechanical will.

This is happening right now to smaller degrees. You ever follow advice or do something an AI told you? You have effectively became its agent in the real world. Imagine when AIs can give unsolicited advice through contextual surveillance? What does this mean for our own agency.

Current use cases has us acting through AI to achieve some goal. Like coding, research, advice, etc. But these AIs can also act through us---agentic inversion events (em-dash by choice).
