To be clear I will not be removing information about “other social networks” from my profile. If Twitter suspend my profile, so be it. What they are suggesting is obviously anti-competitive and bullying; competition authorities need to start taking note.

We must get online safety right! Lord Clement Jones and I have written a letter to the Secretary of State regarding our concerns about the implementation of the Online Safety Act, calling for a cross-party committee, from both Houses, to ensure effective implementation.

The government has admitted that it cannot proceed with scanning private messages safely. So why are ministers telling the media that they still believe they can? Time to come clean and stop promoting magical theories. #onlinesafetybill #encryption #osb

🔥IN CASE YOU MISSED IT The head of the Government-appointed think-tank that was chartered to review "client side scanning" child safety filters for encrypted messengers, just threw all those technologies under the bus. #OnlineSafetyBill

@DamianCollins up for a debate? @BBCNews you in? I know tech, I know the tech business model, & I'm happy to lay out the basics, go into detail in a more spacious forum. This could be helpful, because right now I'm seeing a lot of confusion and some flatly untrue statements.

This is great to hear! It's rare to be on the same side as the former head of GCHQ tech on matters of surveillance. But terrible legislation forges rare coalitions. I don't know if it could be any clearer: the OSB needs to be revised to remove the mass surveillance provisions.
