The BBC must rebuild trust with license fee payers. Listeners & viewers are already declining to pay & the long term risk to the BBC is relevance in a world dominated by bigger tech platforms. We need the BBC to pull itself together as an important institution in our democracy

The potential purchase of ITV by Sky is an interesting & positive development for UK broadcasting. It would have been unthinkable a few years ago but TV companies need to consolidate if they are to stand against the growing ad market power of YouTube.

ITV is in talks with Sky over a possible sale of its media and entertainment broadcasting business for £1.6billion.

For years we've been waiting for the arrival of competition to Eurostar on passenger services through the Channel Tunnel. The Virgin Trains proposals are good news for passengers, and the best hope of re-opening the Kent stops at Ashford and Ebbsfleet https://t.co/QNibHIk3vj

I believe in the power of art to challenge us to look at the world in new ways but this graffiti installation at Canterbury Cathedral is just appalling. It is out of character and out of place in the setting of that magnificent place of worship.

The art installation at Canterbury Cathedral allows people to pose questions to God, and they are then plastered on pillars around the ancient building in Kent.

When the UK govt opened applications for AI growth zones in June it asked applicants to, ‘clearly set out any specific asks of government…This should include: Details of the support requested (e.g. regulatory flexibility…’ Was this granted for the new North East AI growth zone?

You could easily have missed the White House AI summit last week, where Donald Trump set out his plan to effectively make the race to be first in AI akin to the space race in the 1960s. Read my views here in my latest article for @TheNewWorldmag

I still fully support the #OnlineSafetyAct setting binding safety standards for social media platforms to remove self harm & suicide content, advertising frauds & scams, inciting racial hatred, harassment, threats to national security, and protecting children from adult content.

Creators cannot enforce an opt out of their works being used to train AI unless they know it is happening. AI developers shouldn't be able to profit from that work without consent. You can read more here in my latest article for @TheNewWorldmag
