Yesterday I announced my Worker Power Plan, stories like this is why. Workers are punished for fighting for their rights, it’s time we balance the scale and elect a government that puts working people first. https://t.co/5LU4v8MkLE

History lesson: every single job you now think of as union-coded (mining, factory work, etc) was, prior to be unionized, broadly seen as inherently transient, precarious and for unmarried young people. The only reason they stopped being coded that way is because…they unionized

First off, I never knew Starbucks baristas was unionized. Second, jobs like burger flippers and coffee makers aren’t meant to be careers. You aren’t supposed to be able to live comfortably off of an entry level job like that, they are designed how high school kids for gas money.

Workers’ rights are under attack in Alberta. The UCP has launched an all-out assault on the Charter rights of Alberta’s workers. At a time when we should be strengthening our economy and communities, this government has chosen to crush workers’ voices instead.

Imagine hating working people so much that you take their constitutional rights away rather than sit with them respectfully and reach an agreement. Shame on Danielle Smith. The labour movement will fight against this terrible bill.

Goldy Hyder and the Business Council are clearly ok to bend a knee (or both knees) to Donald Trump, but this union certainly is not. Bending to the will of the U.S. President is not how we save our country in this moment of existential crisis. 1/ https://t.co/SF8Ufl7cfP

Since this trade war started Unifor has been clear about a # of things. 1. There must be consequences for companies who think they can shift our jobs to the United States. 2. Workers expect their politicians to stand up for them and their jobs /1

Canadians across party lines are broadly united on one point: when companies move jobs out of the country, there should be consequences.
