tl;dr Adding dendrites to standard deep learning units helps with continual learning. Dendrites do more than adding capacity or complexity to neuronal computation! Love to work on this type of multidisciplinary work with entertwined Neuro and AI research !.

Awards for big ideas going to max 3 people is completely outdated now. Needs to change.
For all the folks hoping for optogenetics for chemistry Nobel: whom would you give it to? The folks who made the idea? Who found the molecules? Or the people who popularized them? The Nobel prize is no longer meaningful in the era of large collaborations and specialization.
