Neuropixels probes are valuable & a bit unwieldy for a mouse. So @GeorgeBekheet, @anne_churchland, & I developed a way to use & recycle them in unrestrained mice. We were able to simultaneously record up to 145 units each day for >1 week, remove the probe, & use it again. 🙃.

Hodgkin & Huxley were reunited 7 years later, and shortly after began their parade of papers to illuminate the ionic basic of the action potential. Science can and will persist, even if interrupted by a global crisis. In the meantime, we might need to redirect our efforts.

I was reluctant to weigh in on this but I can't resist. Most weeks during my PhD, I worked 40-50 hours. Occasionally nights and weekends as needed. I worked more hours when I was also teaching -- I knew I would need to, and I felt it was worth it. I graduated in 5 years.
