I'd like to push back on the idea that every scientist should also do #scicomm. Scientists have full time jobs, and are already required to have multiple skill sets. We need more people (and more funding) to fill the gap, rather than give scientists more to do. #SacklerSciComm.

Science is done by humans. Humans β€” all of us, like it or not β€” are flawed. Our job as scientists is *not* to be without flaws or to generate science without flaws. Our job is to carefully sift through the science we create, in empathic community with our (flawed) colleagues.

Neuropixels probes are valuable & a bit unwieldy for a mouse. So @GeorgeBekheet, @anne_churchland, & I developed a way to use & recycle them in unrestrained mice. We were able to simultaneously record up to 145 units each day for >1 week, remove the probe, & use it again. πŸ™ƒ.
