After almost 30 years with us, yesterday we said goodbye to two incredible members of our admin team - Fiona, our lead receptionist, and Teresa, our medical secretary. We know theyโll have many adventures to look forward to . . . As they say, goodbye tension, hello pension! ๐ฅฐ๐

Our lead receptionist, Fiona, will be retiring in January. Weโd like to create something special with some kind words from patients who know her as a parting gift. Weโll have slips of paper at our front desk if you are able to stop by in the next week but shh! Itโs a secret! ๐คซ

Weโre saddened to report several incidences of non-attendance this week - 20 so far! ๐ต We are stretched for appointments at the moment and are pleading with you, our patients, to give us as much notice as possible if you cannot attend. Even 30 minutes can make a difference ๐๐ปโฐ

I found today hard. Combo of the realisation of what an utterly s*itty winter that looms ahead of us, with ongoing GP bashing alongside unreasonable demands and complete lack of respect that @NHSEngland has for their own doctors. I cried today...I suspect I will again soon
This week, being a GP, feels hard. I feel sad. I care about my work. I give my patients all I have. My colleagues are the same. But despite everything weโve done this past year, itโs never enough. The GP bashing feels personal. Far from the clapping, itโs wearing us down now.

On-call again and just so busy - especially for summer. Highly complex/sick/frail folk, plus significant health anxiety and biopsychosocial consequences of the pandemic/lockdown. Also coming in much later in the day so capacity/demand even more mismatched. All a bit unsettling ๐ฅบ
