Oh yes! @patrickstox can I get a version of this with attribution on it so I can use it? Or are you ok with me using it like this and attributing?
I loved @patrickstox's entire deck, but especially this slide. When people talk about AI Search and GEO, they often talk about ChatGPT as if it's the only player in the game (and often claim that "Google is dead") They seem to forget that the most heavily used AI assistant

I found out more over the last year as we worked on FAIR, but I also found out more specifically this week, when I was building a Glossary plugin for WordPress we needed for the FAIR website. https://t.co/68WvnvJ2bM

WordPress needs to modernize. FAIR and new standards based tools show how the platform can evolve with today’s web.

Today’s web runs on distributed systems, verifiable code, and modern APIs. Not on a single, centralized repository that still relies on Subversion. The open web has evolved, and if WordPress wants to remain part of it, it needs to evolve too. 2/3

People celebrate price action without considering how much taxes can take. A $50k investment growing to $1 million could mean a ~$400k+ tax bill depending on the jurisdiction. Wealthy investors know it's possible to mitigate taxes legally through digital asset LLCs.

When WordPress launched its plugin and theme directories about two decades ago, it was a brilliant idea. Centralizing distribution made it easy for site owners to find and install new features. But the web it was built for doesn’t exist anymore. 1/3

Honestly? I don’t care what you call it. As long as you do what works. I prefer calling that “marketing”.
I know the whole "it's just SEO" makes y'all feel comfortable, safe, and confident in a time where things are confusing and change is coming at you from all directions. After all, who wants to admit they don't know what's going on or what to do? That argument makes you look

I want to be able to right-click your logo and be presented with a popover that says: "hey, here's our logo!". Please don't make me search for it! If I want to use your logo somewhere, that's probably good for you, right? So make it easy! That's why we built a plugin.

If I could get back the time I have spent searching for logos of companies, orgs, non-profits etc. in my life, I could probably build another product. We think everyone who has a website and a logo, should have an easy-to-find logo & style page. That's why we've built a thing.

Lily is right. If you had *no* content before AI, then you might see some uplift from this kind of automation. But that’s not the point. AI needs to be a *tool* to help you improve your own actually creative ideas.
So many new posts and articles about automating all of your content creation and social media posting with AI, but crickets when it comes to: - what to do when it annoys and alienates your audience - what to do when people begin to unfollow and block your account - the

Hey @googlemerchants - think it'd be possible to... You know... Include the name of the webshop you're talking about in this email?? Also: getting an email _per country_ feels like... It's a bit much.

Would be so nice if the money that flows to lawyers in a certain court case could just go into WordPress core development… Preferably guided by a slightly more democratic process on roadmap choices.

Whether that’s enough: I don’t know. I think we lack that kind of love for #WordPress Core a bit, and that is the foundation they’re building on too, even though I know @jameswlepage is working hard on the AI side there too.

Credit where credit is due: I commented about Woo and its roadmap yesterday, and the kind (of) responses @jamesckemp and @briancoords have been giving to me and everyone interacting in that thread is great to see. It’s clear they both care deeply and work hard to build faster.

And I think the WordPress ecosystem is not currently going fast enough to be considered a viable option. And that worries me. See this video. See the story arch. Shopify released MCP in March. Where are we? https://t.co/jnaD515rdk

OpenAI and Shopify announce their partnership. I’m left wondering: when will WooCommerce catch up? I hope it’s in the next few weeks. That’s the time they have. And now would be the time to announce they’re working on this. There are many battlefields like this coming 1/2

Over the last few days, we've seen a good discussion about what #WordPress needs to be relevant in the current age. I think it boils down to two things: we need good, capable *and empowered* product and marketing teams. https://t.co/ucDxuvLcMV

WordPress struggles with positioning and product direction. Joost argues it’s time for real product and marketing teams, instead of requiring developers to do it.
