....and I'm back!
1 yr ago, I deleted my account. Though I have THOROUGHLY enjoyed my break from this app, I cannot continue to live above the clouds now that I am a host and senior producer at The Boston Globe.
So I'm back inside, feet in shoes and not in grass.
Say hi!
Just signed my lease for my new place in Cambridge where I will be living right around the corner from
@SenWarren
👀
This is about to be me at the local coffee spot we’ll share.
I’ve moved a lot, by this point I should be a pro. But I still feel anxious I won’t make friends. Sylvia Plath said it best:
“And the danger is that in this move toward new horizons and far directions, that I may lose what I have now, and not find anything except loneliness.”
I use my dog as my personal timer- every 2-3 hours he stares me down until I give in with belly rubs.
He’s my shift lead reminding me to take my breaks.
This podcast was a labor of passion and anguish from the team and did not get the attention it deserved after waves and waves of layoffs.
Listen to it! I’m very proud of it and

Happy International Romani day!
If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about Roma or Romani culture take a listen to Foretold (and read the op-eds in the LA Times written by Romani scholars and activists).

I’ve finally arrived to my second stop on my road trip move to Boston: Laramie WY
And a few observations:
1) everyone is super friendly??? (NYT made me think this place was rough and mean.)
2) Lovejoy’s bar and grille . The food does not disappoint
I already knew I will never be able to afford a house in the town I grew up in, but man every new thing making the life I knew from childhood unattainable just breaks my heart.
Residents in the beautiful, but extreme, Santa Cruz Mountains have lived through historic fires, climate-change charged storms & weeks-long power outages.
Now, insurers are dropping out of the area & pushing people to the edge.

What I hope media execs/financiers take away from the Kendrick W is that the people want intelligent multi layered media. Copy paste that lesson to the podcasting industry puh-leeze. The 👏🏽people 👏🏽want 👏🏽to 👏🏽think!👏🏽
Feliz Día de las Madres to my mami. The badass woman who was the one of the 1st women to graduate in engineering at her uni, move countries, learn a new language, oh and birth me!
It’s absolutely WILD that there’s a stop on the commuter train called Ruggles. RUGGLES.
I can’t take this seriously.
“Now arriving at Ruggles.” Stop. Sir. This is not Nickelodeon.
RUGGLES?!
Nobody should have to go to jail for smoking weed.
We must continue to change our nation’s approach to marijuana while reforming the justice system so it finally lives up to its name.
Does anyone have a mechanical keyboard they recommend? One that is very tactile and clickety clackity. I hate this trend of barely noticeable clicks on mac keyboards.
I wanna feel like this:

Ironically I felt the review itself was a bit guilty of the very thing it criticized in TTPD. It too could’ve used just a tad more editing. Some repetitive points, but they were made very well.
The scene outside Dedham courthouse at the beginning of the Karen Read trial. Folks are wearing pink in support of Karen Read because they say they are not allowed to have signs.
The perpetual question
What is more palatable to potential sources: Introducing yourself as a reporter or a podcast producer?
There's cringe either way. And I'm torn.
Wouldn’t it be great if we could fall asleep with the same control we have to blink? Natural but also with a manual override.
Yes I can’t sleep, what’s your point?
9 years ago, long before I became an animator, I installed the Sims 4 and made “My Sweatshop Family.”
With my starting money, I was able to build a bedroom and a separate factory for the workers.
I wonder how often people mishear Bill Burr for Bill Barr.
Bill Barr Baggins.
B-b-b-b-b-b-bill is the word.
(It was a mistake for me to get back on Twitter)
We ran out of contact solution. I walked to 3 different “24hr” convenience stores. They were all closed.
I’d understand if these were Covid casualties and Google maps just hasn’t updated. But this is downtown Boston. There were bars/clubs every few feet! Lots of people around.
I was quite nervous after looking up New England culture. “New Englanders are cold and not friendly”. But I haven’t found that to be true at all so far.
Everyone I’ve met in and out of the office have been very welcoming and friendly. Easy going even.
Hey what's this obsession millennials have with "Frasier" about? Is it that you were a kid and your parents were watching it so there's nostalgia about being in the room while a show you weren't really into was on and also Kelsey Grammer is kind of a dork? Help me out here.
Highly recommend the art gallery escape room at boxaroo in downtown Boston. We got out in 45 min 💪🏽. We would have gotten out earlier if we had more people.
When I was 6 my babysitter (our neighbor, a Black woman) had Waiting To Exhale and the colorful cover enchanted me. Cut to age 12 when I found it again at the library and picked up every Terry McMillan title and read them all back to back. I was a lil soulful child that summer.
Continuing my visit through the 90s Blk new wave I revisited 95's Waiting to Exhale which I hadn't seen in awhile and it didn't lose any of its power as a tear jerker, but the prevailing thought I'm this revisit was Angela Bassett, Angela Bassett Angela Bassett... 🧵
I’ve never felt more insecure about my skill in ANYTHING than I do when I watch
@DeadbyDaylight
meme clips. I’ve sunk so many full grown adult hours into this game and I am not even CLOSE to some kids on twitch.

As a native Santa Cruzan this juxtaposition offends me. ATHERTON?! I didn't even know Atherton existed until someone pointed it out to me on the 280
Is there an app that tells you which businesses force junk fees?
I got a tally going I’m happy to contribute to it.
Hyatt, Marriott, Honda dealerships, Ticketmaster (obv)…
It was a big reminder that the value of trust and community even at risk of being burned is so much better than living in fear and suspicion.
Obviously only take reasonable risks. Don’t gamble with serious things.
But in this case we bet on the good of others. And it paid off.
This happened weeks ago. We were asked to trust she would pay us on the 1st. There was nothing preventing her from never paying. She already had her stuff (we delivered it to her door, and no one was home).
But today paid us! Along with thanking us for trusting her.

After spending $$$$ on a tiny cup of tea and paying “destination” fees at the hotel I’m staying at, what a time to come across the revolutionary communist of America protests.
Did Karl Marx get pissed after getting nickel and dimed at ye olde coffee shop too?

I saw this, tried to unravel, realized it was more afro-latinidad erasure nonsense, and x'ed out.
No sir, not today Raymonte! It's too late in our of the lord 2024 to do another round of Latino race bingo.

"By 2020, Maclean had started to incorporate human remains into her art...'This doll has been sold and yes that is a real human skull,” she wrote. “If you’re in the market for human bones hit me up!'"
These details are uncanny valley. Great piece
@hannaskrueger
I’m delighted by the amount of responses saying “Weird Al”
But Weird Al is actually the nicest guy and asks permission for every parody. He’s not going to take shots at anyone.
And that’s the only commentary I’ll contribute to this discourse. I know my lane.
I had been off TwiXter for a while and boy, I musta lost my tolerance for the absolute skunkiness around here.
I’m seeing veteran journalists sniping at Ivy League professors, political advisors and reporters jabbing at each other. It’s like Bravo TV up in here.
Blaming the Katt Williams Club Shay Shay interview for opening Pandora’s box of diss violence is poetic, sure. Apt, even. But I think most of these artists just need to drum up attention on themselves. Bills are due, recession looms. And revenge storylines sell.
For a
@BostonGlobe
story: Do you live in
#Canton
and have an opinion about the
#KarenRead
case? Do you not want to be involved in the activism (on either side) but feel misrepresented by the media? And/or concerned about the effects of this case for Canton? I want to talk to you!
I realize now that the way I wrote this makes me sound like she was one of a few women to birth me 🥴but honestly that’s fine because I’ve had many women play important roles in my life so I’m going to mark that as creative semantics.
