Absolutely this. Support for perpetrators canāt come at the cost of survivors. Funding must reflect the urgent, life-saving role of frontline services - not leave them fighting to stay afloat.
While action on perpetrators is welcome, this level of funding must matched for services that provide survivors life-changing and life-saving support. We need urgent action to address the funding crisis in frontline services supporting women and children.

The Victimsā Commissioner highlights a critical gap: without a firewall between police and immigration, migrant victims are deterred from reporting crimes. This isnāt just a safeguarding failure - itās a structural flaw in access to justice.
My Victim Attrition review found migrant victims face additional barriers to justice. Without a āfirewallā between police & immigration, victims with insecure status often feel unsafe reporting crime. And when they do, poor interpretation services leave many unheard & unsupported

Another day, another case kicked into the distant future.
The Labour Party made a manifesto pledge to set up dedicated rape courts. It has failed to do so. Today, an alleged victim of an attempted rape is getting the news that the trial of her suspected attack will go on trial in February 2027. This simply isn't good enough.

Claire is right - āÆwe must completely overhaul how we support victims. Sheās been calling for a victim care hub for years. Iāve long agreed. Single point of contact. Seamless care. Real respect. This is the moment to make it happen. cc. @LDNVictimsComm.
In my @Channel4News interview with @cathynewman, I exposed a criminal justice system in crisis and called for urgent reform:.š¹ Victim Care Hubs to help navigate justice.š¹ Bold action to clear the court backlog.š¹ More action from Police to tackle victim withdrawal

Exactly why we need to heed @LDNVictimsCommās call for urgent reform. When victims disengage, itās not because they give up - itās because the system gives up on them.
When the met offered to reinvestigate my rape, I said yes. But after one call being reminded of their inadequacies and inability to be empathetic, I quit the justice process. This review highlights exactly that. Many victims like myself disengage. The system isnāt fit for purpose.

A stark but necessary read. The London Victim Attrition Review lays bare the scale of disengagement - and the systemic issues behind it. Important work from @LDNVictimsComm, whose continued advocacy is helping bring this crisis to light.
Today I publish the London Victim Attrition Review ā a landmark study exposing why so many victims disengage from the justice system. The findings are stark: the system is failing victims. We cannot accept this status quo. Victims deserve better.

Over half of domestic abuse victims withdraw before charges are even brought - and for rape victims, it's nearly 70%. This isnāt justice. It's a system that wears people down until they walk away. Vital reporting by @cathynewman on @LDNVictimsCommās latest findings.
