Thought your flexibility point in your talk was really interesting as it was such a big selling point for the profession but is now seen as a negative. What teaching can do to increase flexibility & make it easier for parents to return to work is key for retention.

Really enjoyed this @HarrietLowesB & below echoes @AnthonySeldon talk where he discussed how there is no career more important than education & how teachers have the power to transform lives. We all still remember our inspirational teachers today. This is what it's about!.

Enjoyed taking @WoldinghamSch year 10 to @WintershallPlay yesterday for the life of Christ in the sunshine. Brilliantly retold in an immaculate setting. The feeding of the 5000 was a highlight for many - on the stroke of lunch receiving bread!

Great fun yesterday with @wold_y9 running a coaching & croissants carousel of:.- coaching chat in groups on what they could do better academically.- a visualisation on what their dreams are for the future.- a session on what they are like at their best .- reflection time

Fun @WoldinghamSch staff development session this afternoon where we paired staff up randomly to go for a walk around the beautiful grounds. Each had a list of coaching questions to ask with a 15 minute focus before swapping. What do you want to do to develop as a teacher?

Tonight I've taken a group of year 7-12 @WoldinghamSch students to compete in a Philosothon at @NotreDameCobham where the aim is to discuss, argue, persuade, listen & respond to each other. Great fun & all the students are offering really insightful thoughts

The research also shows the benefit of girls in the classroom for boys as 'boys at all-boys schools received no exam boost compared with peers at mixed schools'.

New evidence shows pupils in girls’ schools outperform girls with similar records & backgrounds in mixed schools with an 'unexplained boost for pupils equivalent to 10% higher GCSE grades in 2023'. Good news for @WoldinghamSch.Year 11 students!.

We started the day with an Empowered Learning Carousel with 9 staff sharing pedagogical thoughts with colleagues including:. @ScienceWold got staff to make an origami boat to discuss cognitive load theory & @jessbisc discussed motivating students to love their subject

I think it is really cool to ask young people about their dreams. Can you remember being asked about your dreams when you were younger?
