Congratulations 👏🥂 @IPTA_GW [@NANOGrav+@InPTA_GW+@EPTAGW+@CSIRO_ATNF (PPTA)] for first conclusive evidence of detecting Universe' stochastic gravitational wave background (GWB), a signal dominated by merging SMBHBs 🕳️ and widening the GW spectrum to ultra-low frequencies (nHz).
What to expect tomorrow. With PTAs: First evidence (≥3σ) of an isotropic stochastic GWB signal (mostly SMBHBs 🕳️ dominated). With IceCube: Can't trust neutrinos 🤷🏻, maybe something to do with neutrino oscillations (a new neutrino flavor) or detecting astrophysical neutrinos. 🤞

Awaiting an update from @MissionToPsyche's team on 3I, @ESA_JUICE is getting ready to observe 3I early Nov but data won't be available until Feb '26. Chances @EuropaClipper, @LucyMission can sample its tail. @SwRI @NASAJPL @ltelkins @esaoperations

4️⃣ Unplanned scientific opportunity ahead ☄️ Beginning of November, Juice will attempt to observe comet #3I/Atlas over a period of four weeks. The team plans on using several instruments, including cameras, spectrometers and a particle sensor. 6/8

ESA’s Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer (Juice) spacecraft is ready to aim its instruments at interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS! 🪐☄️ Here’s what’s happening and why it’s such a rare opportunity 🧵

3I ☄️even with the advanced ground/space telescopes is only a few pixels wide, currently we're not in a postion to image it as it approaches perihelion on the far side of our Sun. We rely on spacecraft in orbit/enroute to image/sample its tail. stick to reliable sources. #3IATLAS
This is NOT an image of 3I Atlas, even though it has been circulating wildly. Only trust images with sources!!

@isro still misses out on observing ISO 3I, unsure if we're using AstroSat/Aditya-L1 or any of our space assets to observe 3I at/post its perihelion. No planned rendezvous mission for Apophis either 😢. #SolarCycle25 #SpaceWeather

Gannon storm (famous G5 class Solar storm of last May) is still making the news. Cy-2 orbiter at Moon has recorded particle enhancement by a factor >10 in its exosphere during this storm. Perks of having multiple probes at various vantage points in the Solar system. #SolarCycle25
India’s Chandrayaan-2 observes effects of the Coronal Mass Ejections from the Sun on the Moon. First-ever observations showed an increase in the total pressure of the dayside environment of the Moon. For details, please visit https://t.co/Yvc7xcxR00

This is Kasar Devi - nestled in Kumaon range in Uttarakhand! What makes Kasar Devi so special? It sits right on the Van Allen Belt, which means it has a massive geomagnetic energy field, which NASA explorations have confirmed to be on par with other high magnetic field

For latest info on ISO 3I ☄️stick to reliable sources, wait for @NASA and @esa to publish their images/findings. Their orbiters and landers at Mars are observing 3I through this month. Don't buy artificial origin hypotheses from UFO/alien enthusiasts 🤡. #3IATLAS
Scientists are still analysing the data from both ExoMars and Mars Express, including combining short-exposure shots to see if they can spot the faint comet in Mars Express data. Their work may help us understand what 3I/ATLAS is made of and how it behaves as it approaches the

#OTD on this day 30 yrs ago we discovered the first exoplanet (51 Pegasi b) now we know over 6000 of them. More await confirmation and many yet to be found.
5,587 other worlds, truly astounding! Fun fact: we know/catalogued more confirmed exoplanets than Solar system's Comets ☄️.

102 yrs ago tonight, Edwin Hubble used Mount Wilson’s 100-inch to spot a Cepheid in Andromeda—proving it’s a galaxy beyond the Milky Way. Thanks to Henrietta Leavitt’s work on Cepheids, the universe suddenly became much bigger than anyone had imagined.

#OTD 101 yrs ago Hubble made this remarkable observation of V1 dubbed as “The Star that changed the Universe” from @MtWilsonObs that paved way to determine our place in the Cosmos. We use Cepheids as standard light candles to determine cosmic distances.
