SLIM has maintained main functionality even after 3 nights on the Moon, which was not anticipated in the design! SLIM’s condition will be monitored to clarify areas where deterioration has progressed due to the day and night environments, and where there is less susceptibility.
We successfully communicated with

on 04/23, confirming that SLIM survived its 3rd night! This is the lunar surface taken by the navigation camera on 04/23. Because this was captured during the earliest Moon phase yet, the Moon is bright and shadows are short.

【The 39th Space Symposium】
This year, the Japanese booth was designed with a motif of a painting by Hokusai Katsushika.
Hokusai was very popular with international visitors and the novelty bags were also well received.

【The 39th Space Symposium】
A large number of people came to JAXA's reception time (Japan Hour) and the event was a great success even more than last year!
Thank you for your participation!
The 39th Space Symposium is a wrap on 11 April and our Japan team returned home safely!
This year, many Japanese companies participated, and each company actively promoted its technology to the world. Check out the short movie of Japan’s Space Industry!
Yesterday (04/16) we sent a command for operation during solar conjunction, and entered full conjunction operation for the 2nd time in the Extended Mission. This operation will last for nearly 3 months, but we are confident that we will hear Hayabusa2’s lively voice in early July
Hayabusa2 is currently flying on the opposite side of the Sun from Earth. This is called solar conjunction, and will last about 3 months. Because the Sun is in the direction of Hayabusa2, communication is difficult, so we sent all necessarily commands in advance of conjunction.

NASA and Japan announced new efforts to advance space cooperation. Japan will design, develop, and operate a pressurized Moon rover for crewed and uncrewed exploration, enabling astronauts to travel farther and work for longer periods on the lunar surface:
